I'll tell you right now, barring some freak chance that the Kasumi pack totally sucks, I fully intend to pay for that and enjoy the hell out of it.
But c'mon, 2 bucks for a few different looking pixels?

Yes, they did. Small bits of content were offered as free downloads, while much larger chunks were sold as full-blown expansion packs.Joel2211 wrote...
Hey everyone remember when video games did not have DLC??.........I am excited because on all older systems we did not have DLC to keep our games feeling somewhat new and fresh, so appreciate at least a little bit that we get any type of DLC. Now pricing issues is something of a different story I think for those costumes they should be free but since there not I am probably still going to get it because of the fixed Garrus armor.
And seriously, why do we have to pay for the costumes? I could see paying for Kasumi being almost defensible, but this is just plain ridiculous (especially since there'll be an inevitable 3 more at least)...
I think you're missing his point. OLDER systems - like before the internet?
Lol like N64 or NES, you finished the game wait for the next.

Speak for yourself. My favorite alternate outfit for Tali would be a wood box.Darth_Trethon wrote...
Err....an alternate attire pack for sale that leaves Tali out? Seriously? Tell me BioWare who do you think bought ME2 and made it such a big success if not the Tali lovers? An attire for her would send the sales figures of that attire pack through the roof.
Yeah you don't count. Tali is by far the most loved character in ME....hell her threads accomplished amazing things like getting to 900+ pages in 9 days. 99.99999% of the ME gamers either love Tali(males mostly) or like her as a squad mate(females).
Tali sucks, for some reason i can just imagine her stinking really bad under that suit, her alternate outfit should be a giant can of deodarant

Kasumi should be free, intead you have to pay for a second Zaeed with less than an hour gameplay.
Now the Alternative Appearance pack for Thane, Jack and Garrus...
Ok 2$ (160MP) isn't that much, but they are just an alternate colour for only 3 character, if I want all the costume packs for all 12 characher, it will be 8$ (640MP), that's not a good deal at all.
What's the purpose of the cerberus network then? I thought at least all these small dlc would be all available for free, while the REAL expansion will be charged.

Thane...well that just seems a silly move considering most parts of his dialogue going into bug-eyed flashbacks (which freaked me out the first time I saw it). Glasses while he talked would detract from that.
Hey, if they aren't bothered about drinking from a glass while wearing a full face helmet looking retarded, then why the hell should they worry about being able to see Thanes eyes?
Short?
You usually pay more than they're asking to see a movie of the same length.
The sense of entitlement on these boards could stun a team of oxen in its tracks.

I was under the impression that people who bought the game new would feel a little bit more appreciated. Given that Bio-ware made such a huge freakin' deal about 'buying new' then they're going to begin releasing new characters which we have to purchase on top of that?! WTF bio-ware? WTF?
Yes. Because everything should always be free,
Never mind that you already got two missions, one character, and two weapons for free.
And Tuesday you're getting five more missions for the wallet crushing price of $zero.

Well ppl who bought the game new should be glad. It's those who paid $15 for Cerberus Network who are probably banging their heads against the wall now. $15 for what, 2 new weapons, a new armor and a tank? that's it?Arkitekt_Dante wrote...

who buy the game NOW after months, will get all these mini-dlc to play with their firts playthought.
And for those who buy the game used, no problem, they don't miss too much on cerbrus network, they are on the same boat of us with paying for costume, kasumi, and all future DLC:
After the alternate costumes, I really doubt that there will be again free DLC after the hammerhead.

If you didn't realize there are three (now two) more squad mates, then look at the roster (not characters) on ME2's website.
Granted I understand the reasoning behind DLC, but as TMA said above, it's unbalanced.
Last thought, if they're willing to gauruntee me that this new DLC carries into the next ME, then I would consider it worth my money. Much unlike the DLC from Origins to Awakening, whereas only SOME items from PAID DLC carries over...

If you're talking about the two "classified" squad members under the "Squad" section of the main site that's just Garrus and Legion...Arkitekt_Dante wrote...
Here's my point, BioWare already had three characters in/finished development when ME2 was released. 5 missions in a vehicle which seems like an afterthought to those who actually liked the Mako in ME1? What angers me is that every company EA gets their hands on has conformed to their DLC ideals (look at Sims 3, that game is locked down tighter than a Princess' chasity belt). I paid $60 for (in my eyes) an unfinished product being that these 'three classified characters' where not included. Now I'm expected to pay to open up that content? Make me pay for the mako look-a-like, but not planned characters.

Never sure where Bioware read for their feedback so sorry if this is considered a double post.

Seriously though, regardless of what people think of value for money, there's a single piece of clear and concise feedback Bioware needs to understand. People DO NOT like characters eyes been hidden. Behind helmets or behind glasses or behind whatever. I remember in a making of somewhere the devs talking about how important it was to make realistic eyes and eye movement for their games to be emotionally engaging. That still holds true and any piece of additional content that helps to degrade that experience is going to be negatively received.
With all due respect, I like when my Shepard's face is hidden behind my Blood Dragon Armor helmet. Intimidating your speaker can work wonders. The same is with Terminus Armor. Psychologically speaking, when you can't see speaker's face, you are feeling great discomfort. And it works...

The Firewalker Pack was started (as a project) in December. It was never meant to be "in-game" upon release. This from one of the designer/moderators of the site.
The problem with the three other characters is that you think that they were all built and just ready to be popped in by the time the game went gold. That may or may not have been the case.
{EDIT} One of these "classifieds" is Garrus. The other is Legion. Still classified because they are still something of game spoilers.
Either way you simply cannot call the game "unfinished." It isn't. Obsidian's KOTOR 2? That was unfinished. Unless you're going to argue that without these components ME2's beginning, middle, and end aren't fully realized without them.
And we both know you're not going to do that. Because you can't.
And, really while it'd be nice if some of that DID carry over to ME3, it certainly doesn't need to. The point of it is to extend the play experience of this game and not necessarily impact the next.
I'm sorry, I look upon all this vastly differently because I'm old enough to remember when any game, no matter how awesome began and ended with the box it came in.

Very much why I will not be buying the costume pack. I would be willing to spend money on such content, but it would need to have more than just one new look for three characters.

Back when games were 20-30 bucks and were complete??
Yes I remember and I miss those days.
Now days games get released with missing content so companies can sell it back to us for even more money.
Just like Kasumi.
BW themselves started saying recruit up to a dozen squadmates. then shortly after e3, they changed it. Look it up on Xbox.com, it still has the original release info that says it.
And also at e3 BW confirmed the exsistance of the hammerhead and said it was replacing the mako, So both the Hammerhead and Kasumi (who has more then half her data on the disc already) were planned to be part of the original game and was removed. So no I am not very happy that they cut content to sell back to us.
(good thing they are not charging for the hammerhead pack as well otherwise I would completely refuse to support BW with ANY dlc for ME 2.

As for the costume pack, I like that they decided to fix Garrus's armor and Jack's clothes look good but the sun glasses make the whole thing look like some sort of April Fools joke.
