My character sacrificed themself at the of Origins. But I heard you can still import them into Awakenings.... What gives? How does this work?
I have a question (please don't spoil too much though...)

A wizard did it. Really though, story wise, there is no explanation given. If you want to consider your DAO Warden dead, just play as the Orlesian warden.

Wow... Um that's pathetic.... honestly. At the very least, it's beneath Bioware standards.

It said in the FAQ that " If you dont mind hand waving this detail, nethier do we"
They put the option in but it's up to you if you want to bring em back from the dead.

Go ahead and make an Orlesian Warden. It's not like much from the original game comes through (except for gear). If you import a warden from DA:O you get a friendly wave from Oghren, a cameo from either Alistair or Loghain and a possible cameo from Wynne.

The only thing that even matters from your game is who you picked to rule. All the other decisions of your dead warden doesn't really apply even if you could import their choices over. If you picked Alistair to be king, just play as an Orlesian since he is the default ruler in a new Awakening game.
Edit: Wait, no, I'm wrong. I do remember talking to the dwarf in the keep and he mentioned Harrowmont by name (the person I chose to be king in my dwarf noble game). That was it.

I'm gonna learn about how well the DLC import mods work, or wait until Bioware comes out with a patch I think. I thought about it... and I GUESS I can stomach some "resurrection" that took place "off camera" for now.... *sigh*

With the exception of gear, the cameos and an extra line or two in the epilogue, I'm not so sure there's much difference to playing a living or dead Warden.
