At the end of Dragon age were they have the credits that tell you what happened to everyone it said that me and leliana continued are questing and helped the grey wardens. That fits the expansion pack story perfectly, however if she is not with me...that makes....noooooooo sense...at all. Does anyone have a explanation?
Where is Leliana?!

At the end of Dragon Age we agreed she would come with me and help the Grey Wardens. We also had a romance, however i was told she wont be in awakening.....wtf?

Budget reasons, no romance in DA:A The less they spent on making it, the higher the profits.

She was off doing something else while you were in Amaranthine. When you left, you caught up with her somewhere else. You could say she was helping with darkspawn problems somewhere else while you were dealing with a bigger darkspawn threat in the north.
Edit: The darkspawn didn't just go to Amaranthine, the epilogue in Origins says they went to many places, even Orlais.

She had personal business elsewhere maybe?? This game wasn't about your companions and your relationships. It was about you being a Grey Warden and also helping them/yourself establish selves back into Fereldan again. After what happened at Warden's Peak they were exiled for a very long time. It was only about 20 yrs ago that they were allowed back in. Playing this expansion, the way it was set up this allows the people of Fereldin to start seeing who and what the Grey Warden's are. Basically it's a way of letting them establish themselves back into Fereldin again.

Ya, we get that maybe she wasn't with us, but how about some info on where the missing companions were, you know like just a Star Wars like bit of info at the front end of the game or something heh.

A classy move would have been to have a note appear in your pak (if you having/had a romance with her) wishing you well on your journeys hurry back etc..
Basically I think what really happened is EA said no to the extra budget needed and so.. no romance..

I like to think that she was my agent in Orlais working with the Orlesian wardens while I was in Ferelden getting things done.

I think they are more concerned with establishing the lore of the world, which is supposed to increase long term viability of their franchise from a business perspective. However, just establishing and then fleshing out lore isn't enough. I think being able to tell compeling stories makes or breaks it for me. I do hope this expansion can make up for the lack of familiar faces.
I suppose ME 2 succeeded to an extent, but honestly you never really know anymore considering how much the direction the wind blows seems to change lately with Bioware games. It's great that they are trying something different...it's just that I hope they replace what they leave behind with something better in the future to look forward to.
