I started "Awakening" with my very first (and poorest) character from DA:O, my s&b fighter.
When I checked her stats after entering the game, I noticed the new talent lines for shield fighters and - later, when I found the dwarf - also for 2HD-fighters.

I admit, I can't really put the new talents to a good use. The descriptions sound cool, but except the passive ones I seem not to be able to figure out, when to activate them, especially the entire new line for the 2HD-fighter. Perhaps someone could give me some pointers?

As next I saw the new specializations. I liked the "ghost warrior", but unfortunately it seems to be a bit more complicated, than I thought.
Of course, the descriptions sound again excellent, but are these talents really worth it? Shouldn't I focus on the new line for the warrior per se, like "second breath" etc.?

Should someone have gathered more experience in the meantime, I'd appreciate a detailed oversight about the new stuff in general. Thanks in advance
:)

played through as a dual wielding warrior, so I can't really comment on the new 2h trees, besides the fact that they seem useful because they seem to add a small cone/AoE to 2h attacks.

The new general warrior talents are pretty good, especially the normal/lesser rank insta kills. The AoE version is pretty awesome, and even if it doesn't kill off hordes of enemies whites are usually one-two hits away from death anyway.

The Spirit warrior talents I'm a bit iffy on as well. I took them, and ended up replacing momentum with the aura. Fade something. It seemed to work well. With all the spirit warrior talents, it gave me armor piercing damage, avoidance, and faster attack speed, whereas momemtum just gave me attack speed. The downside is that it drains endurance pretty quick, so you either need a lot of stamina potions, second wind, or the ability to end fights quick, because the natural out of combat regen counters the spirit warrior's toggle.

Second Wind is also pretty good, instant stamina restore in the middle of a tough fight? Yes please.

The new talents for 2h warrior is pretty good. The new gear and Spirit Warrior makes the 2h a very good build. I don't know if it is still not on par with DW in terms of damage though.

In the meantime I could finish the spirit warrior line. With the last talent it seems to be really useful. The second one - the explosion - casuses significant damage and overall the character seems to take less damage than before.

"Second breath" is really nice, right."

Fate of the weak" (translated from German)" I have on Oghren and saw him doing 230 dmg to the "weakest" enemy in a fight, a white Hurlock.

Also I could try the s&b talent "moloch", which impressed me, too.

What about the new talent line for 2-WF? It starts with something like twin strike and sounds pretty powerful.

A double gaurenteed critical hit is pretty fun. I haven't really bothered with the combo effects though.

But Twin Strikes + Unrelenting Strikes or whatever the final talent is called is a killer. Given enough stamina and hit rating you see upwards of 10-15+ critical hits on a single enemy. It seems to freeze them in place sometimes, too.

Although there are stamina pots now and runes, which decrease stamina costs, it still seems to be the biggest problem for fighter-classes - melee and ranged - to keep the important talents running.

Often I found myself in the middle of a fight without even the most basic stuff running, like shield wall etc.

My DW/Archer Warrior went Spirit Warrior - I ended up re-specing and only specialising in that. To be honest, I think its so good its broken - particularly if you're playing on normal or hard and with a party. It also seems to work well with Archery. I tend to focus heavily on stamina-regen gear, so between that, deathblow and second wind I only ever got low on stamina during the longer boss fights. I think I used 4 stamina potions in the whole game. And 2 of them were during the final battle.

I think going SW requires a lot of stamina-regen items. I was using my imported Evon the Great's Mail + Wade's Superior Dragonscale Gloves and Boots + Duncan's Sword + Andruil's Blessing for a lot of the game. It was only really later on that I changed that setup. Even then, unless I spammed talents like crazy I rarely got low.
