I haven't gone through all of the previous pages.

I do (kind of) agree on some of the following so far:

Shepard - Sam Worthington

Posted Image
(don't know if this pic has already been posted - but he does look like he could be a convincing Shep & he's not a bad actor)

Miranda - Yvonne Strahovski (no brainer)

Ashley - Erica Cerra (she has a good look for the role & I like her feistiness as Jo on Eureka)

Joker - Seth Green

TIM - Martin (or possibly Charlie - looks so much like his dad) Sheen

Liara - Jillian Murray (is the model for the character & an actress - haven't seen her work so I don't know how well she can act though)

Jack - Kiera Knightley (she has the look & I think she can pull off the character)

Udina - Gary Oldman (talented & I believe he can play him very well)

How about a female shepard for the movie. Jennifer Hale with short and red dyed hair would be awesome.

If you'd go for a male Mark vanderLoo will simply have to brush up on his acting skills. I mean just look at the man:

I think Vanderloo would be too old by now.

Ummm guys Vanderloo is a DUTCH model, if you think Jason Stathom's accent might be trouble, imagine a very thick dutch one.

Characters

Shepard: Jason Stathom

Anderson: Keith David (he has the voice) or Lawrence Fishburne (looks more like Anderson then keith)

Joker: Seth Green

Dr.Chakwas: Cuddy from house (dont know her real name)

Kaiden: John Cusack or a Much younger Steve Buscemi

thats all i can think of for now

Lisa Edelstein would play the part very well, but she's not exactly in the right age range. But, I guess that's what movie magic and make-up are for lol

Wow I'd rather have actors that can act play the parts even if they are unknown it would bring down the costs plus they would work their ass off to get their star power up... If Jason Stathom was in the movie or any other B-line actor like him I don't know if I would go to see it because in my mind the movie quailty would just not be there. They need actors who can act and a storyline that works. I'd rather they get a bunch of unknowns play the parts that can truly flesh out the characters and at the same time save money to spend on the special effects, because we all know this movie is going to have to have alot of it especially with the setting taking place in space! This better replace Star Wars Original E1-2-3 as the new defining Space Opera. Or else the Brand of Mass Effect fails in my mind. Ok maybe not Star Wars 1-2-3 but at least 3-4-5 because we can't set the expectation too high lol

Shepard: Sam Worthington.
I can’t help but imagine though, if only Vanderloo could act… Posted Image

Joker: Seth Green.

Ashley: Charisma Carpenter.
(Alright, why not have a Buffy reunion already, and cast Alyson Hannigan as Kelly Chambers, too: “When I was in band camp… I fed Shepard’s fish”. LOL. j/k )

Kaidan:  Eddie Cibrian.

Liara: Jillian Murray.

Miranda: Yvonne Strahovski.

Jacob: Taye Diggs.

Dr. Chakwas: Cristine Rose.

Illusive Man: I think Liam Neeson would kill the part. Is he too too old, though? Same goes for Martin Sheen.
Alan Tudyk comes to mind as a young(er than these guys, anyway) Illusive Man

Matthew Fox was good in the last series yes, but he's no Sheppard.
Wrong sor tof guy.

He would have been good a few years ago, but honestly i think he's lost his edge.

My vote goes to Dominic Purcell.
Rough, edgy, large!

Big Dom would be ace.

Yeah. Agree. I LIKE Stathom but...he has been in too many Bs and I just haven't seen him do anything beyond B-level acting.

I too would like a bunch of unknowns (but well vetted for acting ability) EXCEPT for the obvious: Strahovsky IS Miranda, Jillian Murphy IS Liara, and YOUCH....Charisma Carpenter as Ash (from other post)? She stops my heart and breathing cold (not sure that's really a good thing for the role and the movie).

Perhaps. Actually EITHER of the guys from Prison Break might be able to do it.

Any suggestions for Jack? I'm polluted on Jack because every time I think about her I think of the movie "V for Vendetta" and Natalie Portman with her shaved head. Damn she's fantastic but she is too petite to be a badass Jack, so I got nuthin.

No! Not Stathom! He's..just..bad.

The whole film would be a farce if he was even in it, let alone the staring role!

What about the Rock? He was good in Doom....or the other chap from Doom, Karl Urban! he would be ace.

you know what...your onto something there.  Charisma Carpenter would work well as Williams (maybe even Shepard).
Good call.
Some one call her agent!

Im not to bothered about the second game /film yet.
The story for the first game is so utterly huge, that any distraction with characters from the follow up game would ruin the atmos, i think so anyhow.

Worthington was one of my first flashes for Shepard for a movie. From his stint in the last Terminator movie, he just looked Shepardish. However, though Iiked him in Avatar, he DOES need to buff up a bit (not too much but he needs some meat on his arms and shoulders) and I also wonder about overdoing Worthington in these scifi/action roles.

Your picks for Joker, Liara, and Miranda go without saying. It's them or its a crime. I LIKE your Chakwas pick.

As for TIM...I've wondered too whether or not Sheen would be able to do it but I think he could (he's not like some bedridden fossil on a ventilator) - he merely has to be the enigmatic, unreadable, non-action-taking head of Cerberus, he doesn't need to race around with guns and armor).

Your Charisma Carpenter pick renders me speechless so I can't think straight about her. Sweet mother of Cthulhu!

Worry not at all. I merely said I LIKED Stathom - for the stuff he's done. He's just likable to me but NOT as Shepard. It WOULD be like using "The Rock" (gad!) and totally ruining the movie (turning it into Doom). Karl Urban is actually good, in SPITE of his role in Doom. Think the Bourne movie. He does have the look (when head is shaved) - it is just as good as he CAN be in a movie, his scifi creds (other than Star Trek as Bones) have been poor to say the least.

Charisma is too cute and small to be a good Shep. How could a Shep NOT go with Ash as an LI if Charisma is playing her. It would almost be beyond the control of the Shep character.

I have seen that name pop up periodically here but had no clue (nor interest) in looking him up. That pic, however, makes me seriously wonder if they didn't model their default Shepard on the guy. Almost down to the scar in the hairline on his left temple, he is a virtual dead-on match. Ear shape, nose stucture, eyes, hair (in the pic at least), etc.

Gad. Hope they don't go on to use him in the movie. Don't want wooden actors or cardboard cutouts in the lead (or anywhere else for that matter).

I agree, Sam Worthington would need to hit the gym HARD to play Shepard. My second pick would be Dominic Purcell - as mentioned above, he does look the part.

I also thought of Mark Ruffalo and Oded Fehr for the role of Kaidan (remember him in Resident Evil?)  It’d be a good ME1 combo: Dominic Purcell as Shepard, Mark Ruffalo as Kaidan and Charisma Carpenter as Ashley.

I also think Helen Mirren would make a great Dr. Chakwas (my first pick was Cristine Rose).
And TIM: it's gotta be Martin, or even (with some reservation) Charlie Sheen.

Quality acting over looking the part takes a huge precedent in any choice.. Definitely not the rock. A group of unknowns that have great acting ability would be great rather then using star power which would take an already I am sure lower budget movie (because it has the stigma of being a video game movie). Anyways with the team at bioware in a production capacity I am sure it will be great and will take video games out of the Stigma of video game to movie adaptations being crap.

I think I have the perfect Jack. Noomi Rapace.

If you haven't seen the movie "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", the Swedish version (ignore the coming hollywood version) then I HIGHLY recommend it. Fan-f*cking-tastic and the chick who plays Lisbeth, Noomi Rapace, is absolutely incredible. She could be Jack (wonder how she'd look with a shaved head?)
