Sam Worthington, and I agree - as long as he plays it like he did as Marcus in Terminator: Salvation - he was the best thing about that movie IMO. Didn't care for Avatar too much. That being said, I think Christian Bale would do nicely too. Also agree with a previous post for Jim Caviezel from Outlander. I immediately thought of Shepard when I saw that movie too.

Also, what if we had a movie with a female Shepard? John Shepard's twin sister perhaps? My first choice for a female Shep would be Lucy Liu, but she wouldn't quitework well as the twin sister for a John Shepard played by the above suggested actors lol. But, hey - who knows what the future holds for genetic mixing?

If not Lucy Liu, then Katee Sackhoff FTW!

This of course could be remedied by, as has been mentioned before, placing the movie in another time-period. Plus, this avoids the video game movie stigma in my opinion, because it's not based off the game, it's based in the world created for the game. And the world is rich, and full of awesome.

Yes video game movies suck but Doom,Super Mario,Resident evil,Street fighter,Max Payne,Hitman,Blood Rayne,Alone in the dark,Mortal Kombat,Tomb raider,Dead or Alive,Silent Hill,Wing Commander,In the Name of the King,Double dragon,etc all had story that suck or where nonexistent or directed by Uwel Bwol.Remember at one point people thought all comic book movie sucked then movie companies start doing them right.



Mass effect has actually story good which could be tweaked for a good movie.Renegade Shepard Mass effect movie would be entertaining.Everybody in Mass effect has back story and purpose it is not street fighter,Mortal Kombat or Max Payne where they have to make up stuff.They are games like Halo,Mass effect 1 and 2,Metal gear Solid,Uncharted 2 which have good enough story to make good movies.



If Hollywood keep picking stuff like tekken,driver,Mortal Kombat,Resident evil(all of which are being made now) we will keep get bad movies.A Kane and lynch movie staring Bruce Willis and jamie Foxx is being made,A Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) Gears of War movie is being made and Prince of Persia movie which we all seen the previews for is coming out soon.We will see better movies in the future

Ok Resident Evil 5's plot sucked, I'll give you that,  but I liked the first few.

A movie seems unlikely, butHudson said there was interest, but they would only allow a movie to be made if it was of high quality, so either way the complainers should be a bit less worried then they are.

I guess you have not seen Avatar,the new Star trek or any of new star war movies. A live action movie is very possible the tech is available

Thats a good idea but I would like for it to have some mention of Shepard. He is the most renowned person in the galaxy after all. Unless it took place during the First Contact War like previously mentioned. Even if Shepard isn't the main character it could still be cool. Maybe something with Kahlee Sanders or Paul Grayson from the novels would be interesting

Yep, the person who does Miranda's voice was also used for her likeness, she's an actress as well.

This is sadly a very true fact. The best adaptions have been Resident Evil and Tomb Raider, and both of those are still stretching. Some of the worst being things like ... well anything with Uwe Boll's name attached.   I'd like to have high hopes for the new Prince of Persia coming out to change the stigma but its probably going to disappoint as well.

Yeah, up until Resident Evil 2 and probably halfway through 1.

why not just cast the people who were scanned in the games? oviously wrex would be cgi but still if a film does happen in the futer cast the inidivduals who were scanned for the games.

Maybe if this was Halo that might have been the case.Their is a Default shepard which every one who has played Mass effect knows. Why because he is on cover and in  the ads and if  you don't make any changes that is who you play with.

We all make adjustment to Shepard,but we all know who shepard is





We can pick him out right?

I dont think most people will argue with most of the supporting cast having the option of actually being played by their respected voice actors. I think the biggest question is John Shepard and I honestly dont think Mark Meer fits the bill. People complain about his voice acting, I highly doubt a live movie would help his cause. Nor would Meer be able to have the drawing power since he really hasnt done much of anything outside of VA work for BioWare games.

Mark Meer was sort of a joke,i was waiting for somebody to say he does not look like Shepard.Some time it is best to small actor to play a part.For example they could use just about any actor for Shepard but if they pick a big name like Tom cruise,Bruce Willis or Jason Statham some people will just see the actor and not character.



Oh yeah Mattew Fox would make a great shepard
