Guys, casting Shepard as Vanderloo with a Mark Meer voice-over would look terrible and extremely fake.

To the people saying game movies are terrible. Stop.
The ones made so far have been, well, a bit off. However, if people were always so defeatest then great things would never happen. Lets hope that with the ME movie they make the first truely outstanding game movie?

Male Shepard:- CHIWETEL EJIOFOR
He is a fantastic and charismatic actor, and has the skill to pull off any part. He would do an excellent job as Shepard. I vote for him hands down.

Alternative shep.... JOSH HOLLOWAY
http://i44.photobuck..._holloway_a.jpg

Female Shepard:- MILA JOVOVICH
She'd need to put on some weight. Shes too damn thin.
Although she may be a bit 'hard' for the part. Sophia Myles could also be a great shepard.

Liara:- SOPHIA MYLES. Her blue.... "And I ****ed in my pants". Plus she is a great actress.
http://www.msxlabs.o...-resim17773.jpg

Jack:- NATALIE PORTMAN. Check the picture........
http://poponthepop.c...ortman-bald.jpg

Anderson:- LAWRENCE FISHBURN

Joker:- Obvious.

TIM:- Obvious.

Miranda:- I've not seen Yvonne in action. If she is a good actress her, if not... not sure. She's not so hot at voice acting so I have my doubts...

Mordin/Salarians:- If there are any salarian scientists in the film.... BILL NIGHY

Garrus:- Voice actor is too good not to use him. Put someone else in the suit.

Tali:- Same as above.

Hey, how about this? Instead of live actors they could just animate it. I liked Final Fantasy the movie for the stunning visual effects. They already have all the voice actors, why wouldn't that work?

I am curious as to why I haven't been offered the role? It is a documentary about me you know. I have a right to play myself!

I totally agree. I loved what they did with the cinematic trailer for ME2. That style would be perfect.

Peter Beardsley as Shepard, clearly.

In all honesty, I don't think you could go far wrong with someone like Russell Crowe (Much as we love to hate...er, well, mostly just hate him). Gerrard Butler would be a good choice, especially after how evil he was in Law Abiding Citizen.

Also, Jamie Foxx is inspired as Jacob but I'm getting sick of seeing Jamie Foxx and Gerrard Butler these days.

Jim Caviziel looks mad in armour though, but he's hardly the most awe-inspiring (Even as Jesus).

Seconded. Or, perhaps, part animated and part live action. Thinking about it, trying to do justice to all the different alien races in a live action film would be a total nightmare.

A Mass Effect movie based on the games themselves is ridiculous. Making a movie of a game with multiple different outcomes and paths and customizable characters is just... no.
An ME movie that took place in say, the First Contact War I'd be okay with. Not the trilogy.

I don't know...hire the dudes and dudettes who worked on Guillermo del Toro's El Laberinto del Fauno and I think you'd have some pretty darn convincing suits and make-up to work with.

Really good call. Both that and Hellboy II demonstrate just how good a man in a suit can still look.

But... what I'm thinking is that to do full justice to the ME universe and to allow characters like Wrex and Garrus to have the screen time they deserve, I can't help but feel that trying to do that without pretty extensive use of some form of animation would be logistically, if not financially, prohibitive.

Awww...you rationalists ruin all fun.
But yeah, I suppose you're right.
- Kudos on mentioning Hellboy II by the way; I absolutely loved that film.

Well, now I feel just horrible. :crying:

Some kind of puppetry, makeup, men in suit, animation mix? I'm sure that would be the best solution. :)

Sounds smashing. And funnily enough, I believe that's the exact approach del Toro had in both Blade II and the Hellboy sequel.

While I think animated would be awesome, I think it's much more plausible for a live-action/animation combo.  For several reasons, really, but mainly because of voice acting.  It is very possible that Shepard will be male (*gag*) and if so, they'd have to use Mark Meer.  Now, he may get away with sub-par voice acting in a video game (especially with gamers that have had the time to get used to and identify with his voice), but he wouldn't cut it on the big-screen.  Not by a long-shot.  If a great number of gamers complain about his VA, imagine the response in a blockbuster movie where non-gaming folk and critics have access; he'd get torn apart.

But damn it.  I was hoping a movie wouldn't get made at all (at least about Shepard).  *Sigh*

I have a feeling it's going to be just another macho space marine movie.

I think we've settled it: if a Mass Effect movie must be made then
Guillermo del Toro has to direct it!
