I'm pretty sure I can dig up two dollars in pennies if I dig through my piggy bank. Hell, I'll give 'em THREE dollars if they would just get rid of those stupid sunglasses. I'll even throw in a bag of Skittles.

Right. Because your entire disposable income is $5.00 right now and you just absolutley have to save that $2.00 to purchase the Kasumi pack.

...Right <_<

You are aware this is the first paid DLC before Kasumi, and is likely to be a test to see what the demand would be for something that adds nothing to the game?

Customers can "vote" with their money, you know.

EA could just have viral marketers promoting every paid DLC with posts saying "$2.00, $5.00, $7.00 is nothing! Just buy it! It'll hardly break the bank!".

That is, if I didn't already give them the idea...

I clicked a thread about the new appearance pack and somehow landed in one about.. Communism, I guess? Gotta love the BioWare forums.

I do see where you're coming from, I really do. But athletes are only payed exorbitant fees because we as a society are willing to pay to see them, and because businesses with money can afford and are willing to pay massive sponsorship deals. Thos businesses get their money because we as are society are willing to pay for that wonderfully vague business term, 'value added'. I disagree with you on the music thing. For every naive band exploited by the lawyers and record company that have lured them into a contract that effectively owns them, there's a band like Led Zeppelin where the artists have more money than they know what to do with (trust me on that, Rob Plant plays tennis at the club where I go to the gym). That's just the way it is though. You can't very well stop it; not without simply removing the money from those sectors, and that's not fair either. It's not capitalism per se that's at fault, it's more a problem with society.

well, but the big clubs wouldn't be able to pay these sums to their players if we would have a different system. And right now Capitalist sharks are about to ruin football in Europe, by buying big clubs and hijacking them. Really disgusting stuff and if it goes on like this, nobody will care for football anymore in a few years, I certainly won't, if the business takes over the sports part of it completely...
And yes, as I said, some musicians do profit from their success, but they're by far in the minority. And most of the artists I listen to are certainly not in it for the money, since most of them won't even make enough with their music to live off it. Which would again prove my point that art workes fine without Capitalism... ;)

I'll pay for it just to support more DLC.

That is kinda what I am leaning towards.  If buying this will tell them that the fans want more DLC, then I might do it.

After observing the forums over the past few weeks I've come to several conclusions:

1) People are going to whine no matter what. "The game is this and that.", "ME2 is not an RPG", etc

2) People will whine even when content is free. "Wow give me more useless free heavy weapons!"

3) People will whine at the first sight of any paid DLC like they were entitled to free lunches.

I can already predict the flood of whine threads this coming Tuesday when the Firewalker pack is released. I imagine the thread titles will be something along the lines of "I can't believe BW spent their time developing this crap!", etc etc

Frankly, I'll buy the costume pack because $2 is less than the amount I'd pick up from a fistful reaching into my coin jar. Hell, $2 won't even buy me a hotdog in Manhattan or a bus/train ride in NYC.

that's exactly the wrong kind of thinking, because that would rather show them that we are willing to pay for any piece of garbage they're throwing at us... I will buy real DLC for reasonable amounts of money.. but this... no...

That's just indiscriminate. Fans do want more DLCs. Fans should not be charged for minor things like reskins.

I agree. We should be buying DLC that is useful and worth buying (although there have been arguments about Kasumi's DLC and whether or not she's already in the game).

However, skipping this DLC to download Firewalker for free and paying for Kasumi DLC means that we want more missions and gameplay options, not texture mods.

Not paying for it just shows them "Hey, I guess there isn't a market for DLC anymore, guess we'll save ourselves some time and money by moving on to other things."

Eh, the in game stuff isn't terrible. I doubt I'll buy it unless there are new outfits for at least Tali or Miranda. Otherwise, nope.

I can understand Jack being more dressed than usual since many whined she was running around too naked. Garrus having his armour finally repaired because again, people were whining. But I am totally missing the point with Thane. Why the hell does he wear those ridiculous sunglasses? I fail to see the badassery in it.
Also, 2$ isn't much but stupid for three costumes. If all the characters had them then yes.
I find Thane's sunglasses confusing.Image IPBImage IPB

If other things, you mean good things, sure. If EA/Bioware thinks they make more with clothes than with gameplay.

If Bioware is idiotic enough to equate this with real, money-worthy DLC, then I'm not sure I want them to continue in the game-making business.
They've demostrated repeatedly that they're a pretty reasonable bunch. I'm not about to simply disregard that and assume that they're McDonalds.

No, it'll show them there's no market for paying for mediocre skins feature lame sunglasses and they should focus on doing story based dlc like BDTS.

I mean other things like things people would be paying for anyway, like The Old Republic or whatever other full-scale projects they have in the works.

Bioware might have integrity, but EA has a bottom line.

Sure, but I like the small scale stuff, too.  That's why I'm willing to pay for both.

I'm tempted to buy the pack so Jack actually wears clothes. Thane looks cool and funny at the same time with those shades. I don't really like the color scheme of Garrus' armor and he looks more badass having it battered IMO.

Should they have it be free or part of a larger pack? The consumer within me says yes, I like free stuff. But Bioware is a business, I support them charging for it if they want to. It took resources to make.

Don't see your point. If Bioware maintains a market - and if we pay for reasonable DLC, they will - EA will have no reason to toss them.
Your logic is based entirely on the assumption that everyone making the decisions is a ****ing idiot. I don't accept this.

I do too, if I get to do stuff and not just press Y at the squad select screen.

That's why I support a romance DLC, with conditions.
