I don't like the new outfits
I rarely use Jack and Garrus (only their loyality missions) and usually ignore Thane

By the way, the Garrus fixed armor should have been his unlockable one in the first place. Adding this as something I should have to pay for is a rather insulting.
This is more like the nickel and dime scam like you got from EA’s Madden ’10 downloads on the X-Box 360 Marketplace. Anyone on X-Box 360 can check this out for themselves. They had 11 items for 80 MS points, 5 for 80 MS points, 4 for 160 MS points then charged you for online franchise mode and other “features” at 560, 400 and 800 MS points. If you got all the game downloads (minus the later added bundle packs, avatar junk or the 2 videos that cost 400 points each) you would spending 3240 Microsoft Points. At a rate of 80 points equaling $1 that’s over $40 for junk that should have (and even may have) been in the game already.
Lets hope that the Mass Effect 2 content doesn’t follow the EA Madden ‘10 route but since BioWare already is releasing content (free or otherwise) that really lacks overall quality I expect them to do it.

How on earth are the glasses "immersion killing"?SkyJackal wrote...
Yup, for Garrus alone. I won't be using Jack or Thane's because of the immersion killing glasses but oh well, Bioware still get mah monies =P
Maybe the wrong choice of words. It's to do with the fact they cover the character's eyes, something Bioware themselves have said is a major part in ensuring realistic character expression and believeability. Digital acting without eyes turns into emotionless boxes reading scripts. It's the same issue people had with static helmets.

Except for the part where you have to pay Microsoft like $10 to get the smallest MS Points package...KillaKow wrote...

This is just a waste of money.
Really, it is now? Because $2.00 is just such a massive ammount of money. There are just so many things that you can buy for $2.00. It's not like $2.00 can buy you little more than a small ammount of food or anything. <_<

You know what else Immersion killing? Thane going into battle in that galactic "texido" with no armor to speak of. So hell yeah I'm glad they finally put some metal plates on him. Now I finally feel like I can take him to a fight. Now if only they'd offer a DLC to remove the equally immersion killing helmets...SkyJackal wrote...

I like Jack's new look and I'm alright with Thane's classy duds (despite that they covered his delicious drell chest), but the shades have got to to.

If each set has alternate clothing for just 3 companions that’s going to cost you $8 for all 4 sets for all 12 of them. Now we have 13 in total so I expect another 5th set For Kasumi and probably two for Shepard. Unless Kasumi already will have a third one included in her download. Possibly paying $10 for one extra set of alternate cloths (that probably don’t have an option to get rid of the sunglasses) isn’t a good marketing deal. What if the developers decide to do a second set later in the year? That’s now $20 spent on alternate cloths. Is this still sounding like a good deal?
I agree with the rest of your post (hence the snipping). Nickle and diming people is a pretty 'good' strategy they use on stuff like this. However, on me, it won't work for me for one reason: Thane, Jack, and Garrus are about the only people I use. It's the only pack I'll buy, if I buy it at all. And that will only happen if someone can mod off the glasses.
Occasionally I'll take Legion or Tali (I like them just fine, but yeah), but the vast majority of the time it's Thane and either Jack or Garrus. I don't care so much about who's best at what, but who I like character wise. Thane is my Shep's LI, hence hes' always around. I've always done Bioware games this way: keeping my LI in the party. And the second slot rotates out depending on mood. So even if Miri and Jacob and the rest get outfits, I wouldn't bother.

I mainly want to see what outfits they're making for Tali and Legion. I don't really care about anyone else.

And in any case, I expect to see a tiny DLC like this piggybacked later on on some larger expansion.

I have absolutely no problem with things like Kasumi being pay-for, they're expensive to make and offer a sense of quality, even if they're short. Plus, in the end, you decide whether or not to get it.
But to pay for a reskin and a few basic 3D models (the glasses, etc.)? Really, when they are a slew of high-quality textures and repaints on the forum? Is that why modding Mass Effect is so difficult, so such DLCs can pass?
I expected that the Cerberus Network would cover such things, small, easy to make chunks of content that occasionally are given for free - like the Cerberus pack and the Ark Projector.
I won't get, even disregarding that in my part of the world 2$ is actually a little more costly in local currency - it bothers me on a principal level. I'd rather save them and get something big down the line, of a couple of Kasumi-sized DLCs.

But still. What the hell. If they did packs like this for everyone, we'd be paying $8.
I am NOT paying 8 dollars just so the whole squad can have alt outfits.
For 8 dollars I could buy a lengthy healthy DLC.
I figured things like this would be covered in The Cerberus Network, and that the bigger options, like Kasumi, would have costs.
