All EA cares about is bottom dollar. Case in point: Reviews for Command and Conquer 4 show that once again, EA has decided to "streamline" a game. Just like how they stripped RPG features from Mass Effect, now they are stripping RTS from C&C4. What's left is a dumbed-down shell of a game that revolves around unit rushes and little strategy, similar to how Ensemble butchered Halo Wars.

No, they tried to copy Dawn of War 2 but failed miserably.  A lot of DoW fans were angry at the changes Relic made for DoW2 but IMO it made for a better game.  It was about time for a change from the generic base-building/tree-cutting RTS.  And they had already made CoH, so it was a great direction to go.

Oh, and about the strategy.  There is still quite a bit of strategy and skill that goes into MP.  Believe me, even though there are no buildings things get VERY chaotic and there are a LOT of things to keep track of.

PS: Halo Wars? Seriously?  That was a CONSOLE rts.  They didn't butcher it, they built it for an inherently simple system with no capabilities to allow for a real RTS game.  They did a good job making an RTS that wasn't a pain in the ass to play on the console.

A majority of the RTS community wants the base building style for an RTS. It has always been there, as it always should. C&C 4 is going to be publicly hit harder than DOW 2 was.

After Soulstorm, I would have probably killed someone if DoW2 had the same mechanics as 1.

People get spoiled with Dragon Age and half of ME 1, and they expect ME 2 to be the perfect game.

Thank god I'm going for Web design instead of Video Games.

wow dude, are you for real? calling people social reject?

No, you admitted to being a social reject. I didn't pull that one out of my ass. Calling people =/= calling you a social reject.

yoomazir wrote....

you got some serious issues pal . Honestly, the more I read your posts and the more I see you are the sort of person who ends up insulting people just because they don't have the same views as you.

Says the one bashing people just because they have different tastes and happened to like ME2. Can i say hypocrisy at its finest?

Secondly  , you're the only person i bashed on this thread, the only other "people" i bashed in this forum were TJsolo and Dink, one of it was because i was being stalked and the other because he crossed the line.

Thirdly , y i told you many times to quit being a child just because people disagree with you and then you attacked me in the process, say what? Oh thats right you're a hypocrite.

Forth, you started with me, like you try to do with everyone else, only this time you came barking up the wrong tree, homie. You tried to call me out and in the process, you made yourself look EXTREMELY stupid and now everyone is just laughing at you. Even the 40 year old guy who cant get laid, is taking time from looking up kiddie porn, just to stop and laugh at you. LOL...you're a funny little kid...stay up man...and keep your sorry ass, pathetic posts coming, I could use a good laugh before I go to bed. You brighten my whole day.

yoomazir wrote...
Well, it's good to know that, now I see  that it was always useless talking to you.
Cheers mate, enjoy your sad life.

Yet you constantly respond, do me a favour and get lost. Its utterly sickening to see you put down those that actually enjoy the game and try to justify your actions and then try to call another person out in the process.

i must say I'm a bit disappointed by these missions so far, but i can't complain too much since it's entirely free. Hopefully they introduce some in-depth missions with the hammerhead as paid dlc though.

More dead scientists. If the assistant had been indoctrinated by the Reapers, why not keep him alive as a villain that could give you trouble for more than one mission. (e.g. Helena Blake or Lady Benezia). Well, we don't really know the whole story. If what we didn't see doesn't bring everything together, then we might get a paid DLC to wrap this up.

Not necessarily, man. When Halo Wars was still in production the developer notes showed they were making a game much more advanced than what finally shipped. The original form of Halo Wars included base building even to the point of constructing barrier walls, and didn't limit construction to two or three starting areas. The entire map was fair game. It still kept the whole "constant income" resource method however ( a good thing IMO.)

And all of this was streamlined for a console but was nowhere near as stripped as what shipped. The controls were similar to End War, in a sense, just without the voice commands. You can check out youtube for some early-build videos to see the contrast.

As for "strategy" still being alive in Halo Wars... sure, but I don't think it stacks up compared to something like End War. Joker: That's just my opinion though you don't have to tell the whole crew about it. ;)

Sounds an awful lot like the initial version of ME1.

Alright BioWare, you don't need to keep churning out all this DLC every week. I appreciate the free stuff but I would gladly pay for some substantial DLC. Something that will last me quite a few hours. Just stop and spend a few months on making big DLC. Big as in Point Lookout and General Knoxx big. I can go without a new 5 minute mission or heavy weapon for a few months. And if you really want to make your customers happy, make a really big DLC expansion. even if it won't come out for a long time, like Shivering Isles big. Shivering Isles is the perfect example of great DLC.

-Totally agree. Although I doubt anyone in the BioWare Mass Effect 2 development team even knows how to make anything even remotely close to what the Shivering Isles expansion brought to Oblivion. I cant vouch for this new Dragon Age Awakenings thing, but from my experience, BioWare just doesn’t have a clue on what quality expansions or downloadable content even is.

The Abridged Mass Effect 2, a must read. http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/1777005

Tales of the Sword Coast, Throne of Bhaal and Hordes of the Underdark would prove that they at least knew how to make great expansions. Haven't started DAO: Awakening yet so I can't speak for that one.

It's a game. Now you guys are bringing up things that don't need to be brought up. "...or why Collectors drop thermal clips."<<Really now??

Bioware officials were the ones stating that they were aiming for a more realistic feel for Mass Effect, eh they even made a small documentary Sci vs. Fi, and an interview with some physicist explaining the science behind Mass Effect...

So yeah, doesn't make any sort of sense...

Legion pretty clearly says that there will be isolated islands of Geth that are out of contact with the hubs.  The Geth you fight are some of those Geth.

Ya, I want an expansion DLC for ME2, that would be amazing. Enough of this 1 hour length DLC. I know it takes a long time to make big expansions, but I would be very willing to wait and pay.

You're kidding, right? Even ONE occurence of such a thing is an indicator of a half-assed job.

I never said you did, but if there are only a few examples of this then i dont see how it shows that the expansion is poorly made(not saying you said that, just thought thats what you were implying).
