Is there a way to speed up the Longsword animations, particularly when coupled with a shield?

It's a cool play style, but pretty tedious because of the slow motion swinging.

Thanks for any replies.

In BITM_base.xls, there's a tab for ItemStats. Look for the column titled DSpeed, that's what controls attack speed.

Alrighty, I will take a look, assuming I can even figure out what you just said ;D

I wish this toolset were more user friendly.

Is there a way to export a GDA that will only alter longswords?

Delete all other rows, delete all other tabs, save as a different file name then compile.

Like what file name? Does it matter? Will the game just go "hey this is in the override directory, lemme take a look at that"?

you are very helpful by the way, I appreciate it.

EDIT: Also, I was considering making an ability/talent that would make greatswords faster only for the PC, like how momentum works.. but I don't really understand how to make abilities and the wiki seems a little bit underdeveloped.

Is there any help you could provide?

Made that a long time ago, not sure if it is still compatible.

The file name you save as will not matter as it will default to the name of the remaining tab. It should be something like BITM_Base.GDA or something. An override file would then have the format BITM_<YourNameHere>.GDA.

If the talent does not work, let me know. I'll walk you through creating custom talents.

I can't take a look for another little while, but I would appreciate any tips none the less as I am interested in learning how to create powers :)

this is a pretty good explanation on how to override specific parts of the 2DA files. Hope it helps.

y'eah doesn't seem the talent has an effect, or one I cannot notice. Like I said, however, I would really appreciate learning how to make powers, as there are some others I would like to create, and some I would like to overhaul.

This also interests me greatly, as I can never play as a 2her or sword and shield because the swings are sooo slow and awkward.  In awakenings, playing as a 2her with fade shroud and 3 momentum runes was an absolute blast.  Does anybody know how to make momentum runes available in origins? if its possible.

The absolute easiest way to make Momentum usable by all weapon types is to simply create an ABI_Base override that turns Momentum into a talent with no requirement. This will pose an issue since you can't very well just have a talent floating in the middle of nowhere. The only other way is to create an entirely new talent and the appropriate files for it.

As far as making talents go, I'm certain people have lifted guides from other forums and postem them here, somewhere. If you take a look using the search function, I'm sure you'll find something.

Thanks for the help, and I'll look into that, but what I really want is to somehow get the new momentum runes from runecrafting in Awakenings and make them available in origins somehow. Don't know if thats possible at the moment however.

Probably is possible but beyond my scope of knowledge. My experience in modding usually extends as far as something I want within the game, be it fixing some mods that I have to make them compatible or making custom talents to make my desired weapon style more fun. I've only messed with items a few times so I can't readily claim to know how to get them from Awakening into Origin, though I could probably guess how to do it.

If you are interested in getting the runes into Origin, you'll want to take a look at first how to add custom items to either merchants or straight into your inventory. The next thing you'd want to do is look into the Awakening Core files to find the things you'll need like the .uti files and certainly some of the .gda files.
