Did Bioware copy Vigilance from Guild Wars?

Maybe I am just seeing things but their designs look very similar.

The only thing different is the location of the handle guard. I hope the guy who drew that worked for Arena.net or else shame on Bioware!

This was one of several bugs I encountered during Awakening. Seems like they kinda rushed it =/

Not likely, but who knows?  I mean, it's a rather generic design

Generic design, whut?
Katanas, claymores, fencers, are generic designs. The swords in question have a great deal of oddly similar creativity.

Perhaps, again I don't have any details on who made the art and where they worked prior etc...

Just saying there aren't really that many different ways to make a sword

Copied from Bioware's Offcial statment reguarding this issue.

(Awakening) Armor sets: Sentinel Armor & Vigilance Sword (Xbox 360 and PS3), Blackblade Armor (All platforms)
Unfortunately, we are unable to fix the issues concerning these armor sets and the Vigilance Sword. Due to various limitations surrounding what we can and cannot patch concerning DLC content, very strict limits in the size of console title updates, and the state of some of the assets we attempted to implement, we regret to inform you that these items will not be fixed at this time.

There is a workaround for the appearance of the Sentinel Armor and the Vigilance Sword on consoles, and that is to not have the Soldier’s Peak/Grey Warden Base DLC installed. We realize this is not by any means an ideal solution, but regrettably we will be unable to fix this properly and for that we apologize.

Note concerning Silverite Mine, Arl of Denerim’s Estate, and Item issues: Please accept our apologies. While we wish we could have fixed these issues to the community’s satisfaction, we are unable to do so at this time. As indicated, we realize that none of these workarounds are ideal in any way but regrettably have no other course of action as we have very strict limitations with what we are able and not able to patch, on consoles especially. We have taken into account the root issues related to the implementation of these areas/pieces and will carry it forward in an effort to avoid things like this happening in the future.

wow why don't they recall the items then. I know it is just a mild problem and most people wouldn't want to take it to an extent where the product is recalled, but Bioware just admitted they sold us something that doesn't work properly.

They can't fit these fixes into the patch for the 360 which has a size limitation for patches. Something like 4MB. Because they can't apply it to the 360, these fixes are rejected from patch 1.04 for all platforms. Sucks big time!

Oh well, I guess we'll have to hope for patch 1.05.

If they did it, im thinking if they can even fit it at all it would have to be its own standalone patch. Microsoft and Sony are real pains when it comes to supporting games on their systems. I belive Bioware even has to pay a very high fee to put DLC and updates even on their console systems.

Just another reason why you should buy the PC versions of Biowares game instead of the console. SO very much better.
