The tunic and helmet for the Blackblade armor have been found by many players (including me) in the silver mines. According to the game guide, the gloves and boots are meant to drop from the high dragon in the Dragonbone Wastes toward the end of the game. Except that it seems that this dragon doesn't actually drop anything at all - the corpse never becomes lootable.

In the spirit of scientific enquiry, I have now killed the high dragon five times on Nightmare, and received nothing. This seems to be a bug. I'm playing on PC, but if anyone on any platform has been able to get these gloves and boots from the dragon, I would be interested to know.

Huh, I just beat the game yesterday afternoon, but I noticed the fact the dragon never became lootable also. I am on the PS3 platform, so apparently my game isn't glitched (I killed the thing five times to try and see if it would loot and the dang thing refused to drop anything so I got ticked and went and finished).

Wait... NOOOO! That means I can't complete this set! And I just discovered it on my second time through, and I love it cause it's all black! :crying:

**Edit** According to anther place I found, it says all four pieces of Blackblade are in the mines, and to use your target window to find them all ( I really highly doubt it as I've gone all over the place, but who knows). I'll post back if I find it all in the Silverite Mines.

The first time I played through the gloves dropped off of one of the two dragons you fight at the end of the silverite mine, or at least I think that where it dropped. All I know is that I had them after I left the mines in my first play through. I played that part again two times and never got a repeat.

According to the dragon age wiki the Blackblade armor only consists the helmet and armor...?
Or those who writes the wiki hasn´t found the other pieces?
The devs must have forgot to change the description...

http://social.biowar....php/Blackblade

EDIT: seems that some really has found other pieces...Either this is an bug and the wiki aren´t aware of the other pieces. Or these pieces are random loot or insanely difficult to find?

Becasue I am an rogue I really hopes I can find the complete set Posted Image

Finally someone else noticed other than me.

I've already opened up a thread about this a few days ago but no1 seems to notice it

and yea i've got the same problem however the dragon did become lootable for me and it only dropped potent lyrium potion and sometimes it wasnt lootable so anyway according to the items description ingame there should be a set of 4 pieces so the wiki writers is most likely didnt get all the items themselves
maybe its the same problem with ancient elven boots?

Ancient Elven Boots are NOT glitched (at least not in Origins. I do not know if the set is in Awakening as well). You need to talk to the head of the templars in Lothering (he's in the Chantry, and I forget his name), tell him you are a Grey Warden, and ask him for assistance. He'll give you a key to a locked cabinet in the same room as him (it's the one that requires a key by the room the Revered Mother is in, on the right side of the stage thing from the front). They are in there.

But I went through mines again last night and searched the entire place for two hours before I went and fought the two dragons. I didn't find the other two pieces so I believe the information I found in my last post is false.

I have to correct you and say that ancient elven boots are glitched and you need to download a fix for them to apear in the cabinet in lothering but this glitch only apears on the pc version so im not sure its the same on ps3

And another thing it seems that blackblae parts arent the only missing items in awakening
i couldnt find dumat's claw either and  i also couldnt find the chest piece of the nimble set did someone here found those items?

i played for hours trying to get high dragon to drop these. im not excactly sure about how many times, but counting average kill time on dragon on normal id say closer to 50 times. nothing but lyrium.............. xbox 360 version.

Ive also went through the mines with the action wheel. (it makes a greyish croshair when you have something clickable in sight) but my effort wasnt rewarded.

I believe these are bugged for 360 until soeone can confirm they found it on 360.

Bah! This is really frustrating! My Cousland would look so awesome in it... she has that dark evil look that would so look nice with the Blackblade set.

And I finally go the dragon to loot (eight times in a row, I think) but the best thing I ever got was a potent Lyrium potion. Bad, bad, bad bug!

Think its safe to say these items are non-excistent for xbox 360 now. I havent seen anyone saying they got them on 360. ive been all over silverite mines, and ive killed the dragon enough times to say the drop rate this far is below 1.2% if it excist at all.

ok, i think bioware changed the way things drop in this game.

i saw in some other blackblade post that the gloves and boots drop off from crow assassin. so i went to the farm and try to kill those nobles who plans to assasinate me. One of the group is a crow asassin.

After like 10 fights, she dropped wade's superior dragonskin gloves. other times drop freezing bomb or fire bomb or 1.9 - 2 gold.

20 fights dropped another wade's

maybe i am lvl 29 that's why dont qualify the loot level for the blackblade gloves and feet to drop?

Edit: i went to do the smuggler's den quest and farm the smuggling leader, i got a 2nd piece of FELON armor in less than 10 fights.Posted Image

reload and kill him and got a 2nd rose's torn Posted Image

He drops 33 gold once, gloves of guile, antivan leather boots, roses torn and felon armor

Next i went to kill the maleficar in the city of aramanthine. After 5 fights, he drops first enchanter hat, enchanter staff next and vestment of urthemiel in another fight.

It seems the monsters will RANDOMLY drop things they are wearing.

Base on this theory, i am going to look out for crow assassins or monsters who are wearing a pair of black gloves and boots in the future encounters!

i have completed black marsh, wending woods, silverite mine and deep road. i 'd farm all the orange named monsters over and over again especially the high dragon in black marsh for 2 days and it does not seem to drop blackblade.

Not trying to be ****y here in any way, but this is the tech support for the PC version, no?

If there's a problem with the Xbox version of the game, then it should be posted in the Xbox tech support so that others with xboxes and the devs who handle xbox buggies can will actually notice it.

Someone could try to use the tool set to find out of they exist. My PC was flushed clean recently, and I don't have a character with anything from the set, so the only way I know how to check up on it would require for me to start over and, from what I've been able to read here, pray that something might eventually drop :P

Someone could make a save with a character who has one or more items from this set equipped, open the save in the toolset, find the equipment of that character and take a look specificly at the equipped item. Then simply copy the code from the item to the other slots, though make sure to alter the code to fit to the relevant slot. You can't have add a code that says glv or cht (or what ever) on the head slot. If you do this correctly, and load the game, then if the item does exist, your character will now have it equiped. If not, then there won't be anything equipped on that slot.

Make sure to have another item equipped on the slot you wish to test on, as I for one does not know how to open the slots when nothing is equipped in the toolset.
