you know what was fun? Running over Colossi and having them havok fuse to the Mako. Sometimes the Colossus would flip it and return the favor.

absolutely, running them over is by far the easiest way to improve your chances of successfully killing. you can always rince and repeat and eventually they will die. But #1 PC > Xbox for controlling that irritating vehicle =P

I played on 360 and had no problems controlling it whatsoever.  It controls similar to the warthog, which I was an artist with.  The main differences being the jump mechanic and the turret cam fusion.  With the warthog the camera angle didn't affect the turret because they were separate, but not so with the mako.

I hate how the controls invert depending on camera angle.

There's only one problem I have with the Mako: Uncharted Worlds. Driving up mountains isn't fun.

Alright its done, I spent 2 hours on this mission.

Dude, this brings back memories.

ME1 was the very first RPG that I played, and I was constantly WTFing up til that point and beyond. I spent 4-5 hours and still failed. Fail gauge got so high that I resorted to using a trainer.

I got why I failed several weeks later in my 2nd playthrough.
Didn't even know RPGs existed until then. Not to mention of knowing what was it all about. Image IPB

Try beat me at this, hah...

I'll give you a golden advice if you're playing on the computer:

F6 = Quicksave.

Or was it F5?

Driving the Mako is like driving a tank drunk

done that, driving a tank drunk is still easier than driving a mako...

Alright I'm on the damned mission where you get Liara, and the fact that there's no frequent autosaves like ME2 is annoying, this is my 3rd ****ing time I had to restart it, 1st time because I got bum raped by those geth at the end and 2nd time for no ****ing reason because the Mako's cannon doesn't have blast radius like all the other "heavy" weapons in ME2, seriously I wish they just had the Hammerhead tank all along instead of this ****ty clunky Mako.

The mako is not the problem but the map it self is.

The combat in ME1 is just ass. And there's so many needless RPG elements. Constantly managing weapons and upgrades whenever I get new ones is not fun. So much better in ME2. At least when your teammates die in there you can easily bring them back.

If the weapon management bothers you get a class that gets master marksman for the pistol, buy a set of spectre vii guns before you leave the citadel, Then when you hit level 50 buy a set of spectre x. The RPG elements is part of what made it great to me.

This is the funnest post on this froum. It is  a game in the Role playing genre, so I would say that this isn't the type of game you would want. :?

The RPG aspect in ME2 is just ass. And there's so many needless FPS elements. Constantly killing enemies and failing to use the excellent one-button-do-all is not fun. So much better in ME1. At least when you wanted lay waste to enemies, you could easily mod your gear.

Ok, this is a bit late. But seriously why take on the Colossus during this mission? Why not just drive past?

Same for the Ilos mission, just drive through it.

???

I know it controls like crap but still, the only time I ever died on this mission was at that damn armature when you fight it on foot.

The Mako was terrible. I'm sorry, but for most missions I just pointed at my destination and held forward on the control stick. The thing moved like 5mph, it was excruciating, especially on later playthroughs. When you did have to turn, shoot, etc, it felt like swinging around a dead cat.

Planet Scanning is like crack compared to the Mako. Good riddance.

Well there should be vehicle exploration for ME3, but with the Hammerhead which looks to have improved handling.

I feel sorry for you if you didn't enjoy driving the majo, I'm used to playing a game where my speedometer can go from 500 Kmph to 2000+ KMph, while shooting people.  Mako is a nice pace for a vehicle that's pretty much a Stryker.

Well, than I won't think of becioming a Stryker driver if I join the Marines. Bioware better put the Hammerhead as the primary exploration vehicle for ME3.

Hopefully they realize that the Hammerhead is the future! It's much more smooth and easier to control than the Mako.

It's armour also includes state of the art technology such as 'wet paper' and 'paper mache', enabling it to stay intact under fire of infantry units for roughly three seconds.

Also functionally useless within a vacuum.
