It befuddled me because Seryna looked nothing like Liara.

I thought the same Seryna is a Dark blue and Liara is more aqua so I never understood that momennt of the forums

Rob!  It has been so long. 

Regarding the seryna thing, if you look close enough in that demo footage you can see her name in the subtitles.  not clearly enough to read it, but it was long enough to tell that it wasn't Liara.
