Besides, having full blown nudity/porn would have meant that there would be a significantly decreased teanager market (parents wouldn't allow it). If that market were decreased then there wouldn't be as much funding for ME3 or DLC's
If it had full blown nudity the teenage market share would have been a lot bigger. Most parents don't hesitate to buy games for their kids these days, regardless of age ratings.

But those parents are ignorant to what is in the games. Having full blown nudity would have alerted the Moral Gaurdians and then everyone would have known.

Partial Nudity is fine though, like it was in the first game.
Keep that "God of War Unnecessary Sex" stuff OUT of my Mass Effect series.

Are you kidding, the Miranda scene was a stereotypical "love"-making scene. "***ing" ( I assume you mean sex without a deep emotional connection) can take on many forms as well, raunchy is just one of those forms.

Honestly, I don't see why it would be beneficial to have nudity in the romance scenes. Does it add anything special? Really, if you're romancing someone in the game simply so you can see their goodies then methinks you did it for the wrong reason. I'm perfectly fine with how ME1 and ME2 handled their romance scenes (Thane, Jack and Tali especially).

How the hell can any of the cheap and cheezy love scenes be equated to PORN? Take any R rated movie these days (and even some PG-13) that has any type of romantic elements and there's usually a sex scene (or 3). Fully simulated sex.
Does that make those movies PORN?
C'mon people, get off the ultra conservative bible bus and grow up. What people are asking for is an experience similar to what they get when plunking down $20 for an average movie these days, they aren't asking for porn in the game. Just like movies, romantic encounters/love scenes in mature rated games, if they are there, should not be done in a way that trivializes the connection between 2 people or the bond they share that got them to that place. IMO, the love scene in ME1 was well done and had a lot of meaning. The scenes in ME2 are just a joke, even taking off their poorly done clothing could not help these scenes.
After playing ME1, I had pretty high expectations for what ME2 would bring to the story in terms of romance, I was sorely disapointed at what they ended up with, not because of the lack of nudity, but the sheer lack of any artistic effort in producing meaningful scenes.
And don't get me started on the quote from Stanley Woo, I have worked in this industry for over 30 years now, and what you see stated publicly is what EA corporate communications has approved to be said. There will always be a "spin" with any type of message from any employee of a developer. Understand that and you can then take anything said with a grain of salt/sugar.

There isn't much of a difference between ME 1 scenes and ME 2 scenes, except for that little kiss that gets interrupted by Joker in ME 1. In both games your romantic interest jumps in the sack with Shep without too much coming before in the way of easing the characters gradually into a sexual encounter. In both games they're relatively sudden.
Actually ME 2 does it a little better especially with the flirting Shep does with Miranda and Jack, I think the Jack romance is done a little better though especially when you play it Paragon neutral, probing and fracturing Jack's tough girl facade, that was semi fun, I like a bit of mind games myself.

I prefer the ME2 scenes because every single one is unique and is characterized to fit your love interest; with ME1, it was the same scene with interchangable characters.allankles wrote...

Movies have scenes simulating sex, some with items of clothing being worn. Maybe Bioware's contract with the voice actor stipulated no pixelated naughty bits. None of the male characters were naked either so I guess fair is fair. No naked boobs for the males and no naked buns for the females seems fair to me.
I hear a lot of people use this to write-off why there's less nudity in ME2 but i don't buy that. Besides, it's just a video game so even if the actor doesn't like doing live nude scenes they shouldn't have a problem with it since it's not really their body(even if they provide the face and the voice for the character).
Point is, I'm not looking for to see full frontal nudity just something on the same level of taste that you see in ME1. Which really wasn't a lot, just a bare female ass and a little bit of side boob. The whole scene lasts for less than a second.

I do think however that in ME3 they are going to take the LI's much more seriously.. They have already made note that the fans wanted more out of the romances in the game.. So I think they will definitely address it somehow in the next game.. Now will there be a scene that is as "revealing" as ME1.. I don't know..
Plus don't blame this on EA.. Just take a look at what EA did with Dante's Inferno and you will see they have absolutely no qualms over nudity in games. If BioWare wanted to do something like that EA would have had no problem with it.. The game is already rated M so it wouldn't really affect sales at all. Did it ever occur to some people that BioWare may have honestly just not thought that much about adding nudity to the game?

Which should be completely fine. Games shouldn't be toned down or censored becuase many parents fail at their jobs.

No, it really isn't. There is a big difference between making love and ****ing. Lovers can ****, but that doesn't mean making love. What Miranda's scene was, was ****ing.
