SHE DIED!!!! I don't understand this, I uninstalled and re-loaded everything and then started over and the same thing happened...I don't understand why this is happening! Please patch ASAP!

it is not a bugged, mhairi will automatically died after the joining, sorry to say she not pass the ritual.

yeah, she is meant to die, but i think it's crap. She is a temporary charcter at the best. In Origins you didn't see Jory, and Daveth being counted as main charcters for lasting as long as her, and dieing in the Ritual. What might have been better would have been it would be total luck who surived and who died, perhaps depending on your class. After all as a mage i'd rather have the knight than Andres, cause it would fit better into my attack style.

I wonder if she was always meant to be a temporary character? She has approval points, unlike Ser Jory.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was when she died. It also messed up my preferred party makeup. Now I'm left with Oghren as the only warrior until I pick up Justice which presents other problems. Of course they had to screw around with what promised to be a favorite companion for me. sigh.

Yes when she keeled over, I audibly groaned, was so looking forward to having her in the group. which is the point and why she died.

Well at least it happend before we got too attached, before she had a hissy fit because you spared a murderer and then went off to become a drunk.

She's also the only companion you get that doesn't have magic gear. She has basic dragonbone armor and weapons. Oh, and it's RED!!! She's obviously a Star Trek reference.

The second that happened I hit the net looking for ways I might have screwed up causing the death despite a huge sinking feeling. I understand what Bioware was trying to do but when you build up a character like they did and then kill them people don't get shocked they get pissed.

In DA:O All of the characters that did not survive the joining had similar or better companions to replace them. Here we have a strong brave skilled female warrior and do we get anything that can even compare to that?

To be clear I don't mind the other companions and I don't mind killing one off but they went about it all wrong and far missed the mark in this case.

There are no romances in awakening they said that a very very long time ago.

On another note, you should all stop crying over her. I had no interest in her to begin with, but I had intended of friending her like I did with other characters I didn't care for, when she died I was like WHAAAAT?! and I checked the web to see if I messed up. I give them good credit for making us nearly ****** our pants with a character hype that died moments later, plus she was all serious and stuff, like "You'll be avenged, I look forward to fighting along side of you, I've been waiting for this -drinks-" So its like, "lol you silly girl you gonna die and you think you're a bamf."

Bet bioware was laughing there arses off at us.

i imported a new character with a TON of gifts and raised her approval to 100 with a character that i was CERTAIN she would fall in love with and she still DIED! even gave her rings that raise her willpower. my game is broken!!!!

Omfg...READ THE POSTS ABOVE YOU. You can't save her, your game isn't broken, she always dies.
Your inability to read everyone else's post about how she is supposed to die makes me think that you're either or a troll or very very dense.

I hope you're kidding. It wouldn't be as simple as just "patching" it. They would have to rehire the voice actor and get a writer to integrate her into the campaign. They should only fix technical and game mechanics problems like dexterity, sound issues, framerate, etc. Complete your mourning and move on; it's the healthy thing to do.
