Interesting.  So that answers the question of Velanna - she can live, but will run off to the Deep Roads regardless.

As for Sigrun, I wonder what the trigger is for her staying with the Wardens.  Did you notice your approval rating with her Bitterfoam?  Were you able to trigger / do her personal quest?  In what order did you pick her up?

I wonder if there is only a certain number of your companions who stay with the Wardens : Nathaniel leaves, but Sigrun stays, vice versa, or something like that.  Or can they all stay?  I haven't seen an epilogue yet where they all stay with the Wardens.

I think you pegged Justice, he goes with you to the Mother or he dies, I haven't read anything yet where he lives through defending the Vigil.

Did you do Sigrun's personal quest? My ending with her coming with me, having done her quest, and killng the Architect was much better for her.

I had them both stay but Velanna faked her death with the tower because I left her behind and she never saw anything of her sister again. I think the party combination for everyone surviving is Velanna, Sigrun, and Justice going with you.

Like I said, I didn't have Sigrun or Velanna's quests triggered or done. I'm going to try and get Velanna's done before I trigger the endgame again, but Sigrun's is a lost cause until I do another playthrough.

My approval with everyone was maxed, or maybe 1-3 points away from maxed. Justice, Sigrun, and Velanna were definitely maxed. Nathaniel was. I'm pretty sure Anders was. Oghren might have been off by those couple points, at most. Regardless, they were all above 90.

Well, after somewhere between one and two hours of going location to location, I've gotten several random encounters with mobs of enemies, but have been unable to get a random location to trigger Velanna's quest. I'm done trying. Her approval must be too high to get it, else I can't fathom a reason. It shouldn't take this long.

Either someone else will have to try it out, or it'll have to wait until I go through a second time.

Once Velanna's approval gets ridiculously high (I think in the 90s though it's hard to tell on the X-box) then the very next place you go has the encounter with the Dalish.

Her approval is in the 90s. No random encounter. So something's flawed.

I loaded the game up just to give it another try. I gave her the rest of the gifts I had sitting in my inventory. This netted her "Inspired: Massive Magic," putting her in the mid-90s of approval.

No encounter.

Justice was beheaded, Sigrun went to her calling, everyone else survived.

<-- Warden Commander rumored spotted at Denerim with red-head leliana and was never seen a vigils keep again.

Come, come, contribute to the problem-solving at large.

Did you complete Justice's personal quest? Did you complete Sigrun's? And who did you leave behind at the Keep?

No-one died in my playthrough, but I think that's due to me fully upgrading the keep, doing all but Oghren's and Sigrun's quests, and also being a generally nice guy.

I also saved the city, I would have thought it would of some of my companion's death warrants, but it seems to have done nothing.

But I got a completely happy ending, I saw reason and kept the Architect alive, and my Warden went off for more adventures with Alistair...

...And looking at that ending, they seem to be setting up well for an expansion based on that.

Again: Who did you leave behind at Vigil's Keep for the defense, and who did you take with you to kill the Mother?

Completed Justices quest. I never found Sigruns due to a STUPID bug!!(so she's toast):(
I left Ogrhen, Justice and Anders behind at Vigils keep.

Only Justice died for me, due to disagreeing with me being overwhelmed by the Architect's awesome.

I completed the quests for Anders, Velanna, and Nate. Left Oghren, Justice, and Anders at the Vigil, but that proved irrelevant since I burned Amaranthine.

Anders stuck with the Wardens, Nate moved on, Felsi left Oghren, and Velanna left the Wardens to search for her sister. Sigrun is the same for everyone, I think.

Aedan wound up leaving Vigil's Keep and heading west to Orlais, for obvious reasons.

Do you recall what your approval rating with Velanna was at the time you triggered the random encounter for her quest?

So if he's with you you have to kill him?

The **** if I know, it wasn't particularly high, I'd only just picked her up. I was walking around doing some sidequests when the encounter fired.

I think it was on the road between the farms and Vigil's Keep.

Thanks. It helps to confirm a suspicion.

Both times I got Velanna's quest I was on my way from the Keep back to Wending Woods to finish that stupid statue quest.

There has to be something that blocks it. Several hours and no go.
