Is there going to be any crafting in DA:O?

You probably cannot chat or play with other users.

I understand why Poisons, traps and potions are a skill but why Blacksmithing? Especially since you won't be near an anvil and forge at all times. THis is not a MMO.

FO3 allowed you to make your own stuff from scraps lying around, too.Phoenixblight wrote...
Was there ever a single player RPG that allowed you to craft your own armor and weapon. I honestly cannot think of one.

I'm not sure if you can count it as an RPG but Jagged Alliance 2 had the same feature.Kevin Lynch wrote...

Completely forgot about it because I found it utterly useless. Especially with the weapons they gave you with the DLCs

And as somebody suggested above for blacksmithing, there might be various things you can get an NPC to make you if you collect the components.
Single player, so no social functions, except what you can do with your NPC companions... which I expect is chat and the occasional cutscene.

I'm assuming herbalism either includes potion making, or is exclusively potion making, as the reagents may be enemy loot onlySrikandi715 wrote...
The crafting skills in DA:O are trap-making, poisons, and herbalism. No alchemy skill, so I don't know whether the herbs are only used in poisons, or if you can have an NPC use em to make potions, or perhaps you can use the herbs directly. \\

Both games did, and the crafted items were the best you could get in the game.DalishRanger wrote...
NWN and NWN2 had a certain level of weapon and (I think) armor crafting. I never really saw much use for it myself, though.
