I seem to be stuck on companion quests. I've finished the Dalish treaty mission, and have Leliana at 100% approval and exhausted all conversation paths with her and Sten besides the "get lost" option. With as few spoilers as possible, can someone please tell me how to initiate the side quests for these two?

If Leliana has confessed her past to you and told you about why she came to Ferelden, you're good. Wander around the world map until you get a random encounter that leads to her asking you to go to Denerim.
If Leliana has *not* told you these things, you're in trouble. She only does so around 70 approval. If you want to start the quest, you'll have to lower her approval.
You haven't told us what level of approval Sten is at. Eventually, he'll talk about the family he killed and how he lost his sword. When that happens, you'll get a quest.

Yikes. Hmm... Sten is at about ~20% approval, so a little way to go still (40 - 70, right?)
When does Leliana talk about why she came to Ferelden? In the camp, normal conversation (like Alistair's sister), or something else? I literally started a new game after finishing the Circle Tower quest to make sure I found Leliana, and most things I do raise her approval. (This is a time when I miss the KotoR save game editor for influence.)

It seems no one would like to tell me what's going on...
Anyway, I used the console to lower (and re-raise) approval with Leliana, and finished her personal story (Spared the mentor, Leliana is convinced she is better - morally - than her mentor.)
I also gained some approval with Sten, and found out about the sword. *(Resolved.)*
If anyone is still willing to help: I didn't seem to initiate the "romance" side-story for Leliana. I don't want spoilers, but I'm wondering why this happened... (Male PC, Leliana 100% Approval) (Side note: the selection comments for characters - ex: "What do you need?" - are viewable in the toolset, and the list Leliana's using is "Explore Select Love" or such. Bug?...)

Think of Leilana as the insecure chucch girl.(shes not,but if you treat her that way your golden)
Eg flirt your tail off with her,tell her shes beautiful every chance spoil her with gifts,generally gush over her and have eyes only for her.Welding her to your hip helps well(I mean keep her always in your party)
She likes the religious symbols and she adores the Nugs in the dwarf town...Oh and shoes...dont get me started on Leilana and her clothes.

@Burningwolf: I've done everything I know so far except for this "nug." I've JUST gotten to Orzammar(?) and have yet to actually see a nug. BUT! I have been exceedingly nice to Leliana without open flirting. That may be the cause of my "bug." I could always start another character though, and maybe get to the Landsmeet... with a romance plot running, hopefully.
(PS: I was actually a bit surprised by the whole shoes thing at first, as I don't usually like "girly" girls. Leliana redeemed herself by condemning the fashions of Orlais except for shoes. Bonus points for whoever can guess where the next non-plot shoe gift went...)

Leliana will come TO you in camp and confess why she's in Feralden on her own when you have her approval rating high enough. The quest will come in a random encounter after that.
