Hi there,
I just downloaded the Awakening extension for Dragon Age for PS3.
I'm experiencing some audio issue, sounds like that some sounds are missing.
Also sometime the game is laggy.

To be complete, I do not experience any issue with other PS3 games, and my original Dragon Age disc is like new.

The sounds goes to a 5.1 receive through optical output.

Same issue here buddy, I read on another toppic that Bioware is working on the issue.
As for the performances issues they are now solved for me.

Had problems only during the first level at Vigil's Keep (till the arrival of Alistair) then everything is now ok.

The truth is out there :alien:

I have the same problem with the retail disk, after the patch is installed or says its installed it just keeps saying to insert the original dragon age disk. However, when you do that it just takes you into the original dragon age game. Seems to be a problem with the expansion disk recognising there is game data from dragon age present on the system.  I think i may aswell just take the dam disk back and get my money back what a con.

To play Awakening you need to start a new game, a pop up will appear asking wheter you wanna play the original game or the extension.

I had no such issue, but it might be interesting to go check the "downloadable content" menu and see what the games tells you about Awakening. (Downloaded / Available ?)

If your replying to the retail version issue.  Hitting new game just takes you to a standard new game no pop up.  There is nothing in the downloadable content.  I might add also my PS3 is not connected to the net so I cant download stuff this is the reason I bought the retail disk.

Arnt Ps3 games region free, surely if all the expansion has to do is read some game data it shouldnt be a problem.

Awakenings may have issues if you are using cross region builds. Awakenings should be bought in the same area that you bought your Origins in to prevent install or other game issues.

Try looking at this thread and see if this will help your situation at all:

What do you call Region issue ?

Is America / Europe / Asia a region ?

Or is it more country specific ?

I do live in Belgium but very close to the German border.

When I bought Dragon Age, retailer where I use to buy my game was out of stock.

So I bought the game in Germany (I did not care since PS3 version has both German / English language).

But I did buy the Awakening expension on the Belgian Playstation Network and I have no issue. (As I did download the Stone Prisoner and the other DLC in Belgian PS Network).

Sorry did not see that you mentioned that you have the Retail Version of Awakening.
In Europe, we can only get Awakening via the Playstation Network

Region is SCEA/SCEE/SCEJ

So you'll be alright with SCEE DAO and Awakenings from SCEE but not DAO from SCEE and Awakenings from SCEA.

German/UK/Belgium doesn't affect the DLC as they are all SCEE.

This issue is arrising due to.

A. No disc version in SCEE region. People want the option of a disc.

B. Overpriced DLC on SCEE store.People are miffed at the price and can get it cheaper in other regions.

People trying to import Awakening on Disc from the US which is cheaper than EU are finding that it won't work with a EU copy of DAO.

If EA dropped the price of awakenings on the EU store they would sell more copies and in turn make more money than they will currently with such a high price and low take up.

I haven't bought Awakenings and won't until it comes down to a sensible price on the EU store. Most posters on here seem to be in the same boat.

Yes, European are always paying high price for everything !

When US price is 1 $, European Price will be 1 €, and with the current exchange rate it is no bargain for us ! (Ok I know, we do also pay higher VAT and tax)

I bought Awakening because I just loved the first Dragon Age, and I am a fan of Bioware ever since Baldur's Gates... but 39 € for a DLC ... aouch !

But we're getting out of the topic here

People help! My character cannot die in Awakening. I tried to create new/import, I tried to play on easy and nightmare - Mhairi sometimes dies after few seconds, my character cannot. When I am fighting for a moment my health going down but after few seconds it is then again full. Such playing doesn't make sense!
Ps.After a few minutes of playing figures are becoming transparent and are shining...

Yes I agree and even if there still only had to be either download or disk and not both.  Then surly it would be better just to do disk as then that doesn’t discriminate against allot of people like myself who cant download additional content as my PS3 is not connected to the net.  When disks are released in all regions then everyone has the opition of buying a disk or not buying a disk.  But at the moment the situation is there are many people who would want to pay for the add on material but cant because our PS3's are not net connected.
