basically they have created a toolset for the general public that can only be installed by SQL experts or coders, if you are niether, good luck. Am sadly disappointed in bioware for releasing such a buggy installer.
Bioware for real?

If you go with their default installation you shouldn't have to worry about SQL Server Express. (Unless you're referring to the Windows XP SP3 requirement, but... you really should have that already.)
The fact is that none of the toolkits that have been released have been "drag, drop, and wow!" creation. Even map editors for games such as Warcraft 3 required some basic programming and/or structure knowledge -- e.g. triggers.
When folks have had more time to work with it and produce tutorials then those without the necessary skillset will have an easier time. Until then, yes, you're behind the curve.

I have never created any mods before...Are there any online toolset instructions or tutorials available from bioware or do I just need to experiment with it on my own?

Traden, http://social.biowar...x.php/Main_Page has a bunch of tutorials. About the installer, what is your problem with it? Are you having trouble installing MSQL or w/e cause you got it off of steam and the steam path name is too long or is it a diffrent problem? If it's the steam thing I can help with that.

First, search function. its been solved by myself and another guy only about an hour after release.
Second, the bug is with MS software, so blame MS if you going to whine about anyone.
Third, the toolkit was made for bioware NOT players. they are just nice another to release it for us to play with, so show some appreciation

I'm glad Bioware released what they did. To do otherwise would be to either dumb things down or to release something a long time from now.
Organized updated documentation for newbs is what would be helpful now. If you can't install, look at the steam thread. I don't use steam, but that thread dealt with my problems.
