Take out the tentacles and use the heal thing if your healer dies. Then kill all the children then attack Mother rinse and repeat.

I soloed her in about 20sec on nightmare.
Rogue-archery: stealth -> mark of death -> strenght of stone (knoskback, physical, spell imunity) -> profit.
No cheats, no exploits, no pots.

sure you did.

guess successful troll is successful.

Now even low skilled ppl can solo Mother, theres spot where u cant be reached by tentacles and still shoot on Mother (i guess its glitch, but some fail ppl like exploiting games, and i wasnt looking for this spot, just tentacles knocked me there and when i realised they cant hit me there, i reloaded game and tried go to this spot again and its works).

I had my PC Sword/shield tank, justice sword/shield tank, Nathaniel bard ranger, and anders as my mage.

My tactic used nathaniel to continously aoe stun adds in range,

Justice to use the aoe pull adds and take his time to kill the adds

Anders heal and nuke boss

Nathaniel pet the spider on boss

My Pc char on boss all time

It went smooth almost till end when my pc char die, was going to res him but at that moment mother died too

The first time I did this fight I tried to fight like how I did against DA:O's Broodmother: ignore the tentacles, slay the beast. Big mistake. The Mother's tentacles, as others have indicated, don't respawn. Every time a batch of Children appeared I would drop a Mass Paralyze on them and they'd be pretty much finished off by the time it wore off.
It didn't hurt that I had never used any of my lyrium potions or health poultices before this fight, though. >.>

They didn't respawn in origins either. In origins you'd be able to take down a third of their health, then they'd disappear. They'd reappear in phase 2, take down another third and they're gone, then they appear again in phase 3 and then if you kill them they die and you get XP. The only difference here is that you can kill the tentacles right out, without having to fight them in phases.

After 5 attempts at getting owned by the tentacles (and not harming the mother at all!), I had my sixth attempt, all but anders died to the tentacles, then rather than reloading I thought i'd see how fast anders would die; i began zapping the mother with staff bolts, and casting the occasional heal on myself, then I slowly began to realise that my mage wasn't going to die, I watched with mounting bemusement as the mothers health fell and my mage was fine.

To cut i long story short, my mage soloed the mother pretty much all the way (although my party members killed the tentacles and children that came at the begining) just by auto- casting and healing.

This was all on nightmare of course!

Is this a bug?
Am I ultra lucky? (unlucky really as I wanted a hard fight, i must try her again without doing that!)

Party:
Main (Tank)
Nathaniel (Ranged)
Justice (2hand)
Velanna (heal/aoe)

As soon as the fight started I ran to the entrance. Kill the tentacles (Massacre / Bombs / Fireballs, when no party member was near).
Nathaniel then on mother. Main as well.

As soon as the grubs spawned my main moved back. Activated Taunt / Grievious Insult & Carapace. So all the grubs moved to him. Then Inferno / Death Cloud from Velanna over that position. Thanks to Carapace my main didnt take any damage.
Justice just stood near Velanna & Nathaniel in case one of the grubs would escape my AoE & tank. Didnt happen though.

A really good melee damager is Twin Strikes to Onslaught, on your rogue or DW Warrior. Make sure your stamina is maxed before Onslaught and you can hit her for 2 to 3 k damage. Also, if you have a mage with Keeper skills, just get them close and plant with One With Nature and do all that lines cooldown AOE's while your DPS goes to work. My first playthrough, Sigrun and Justice turned on me for letting Architect live. I had to slay them, and felt it was more realistic not to swap in the others that I supposedly left at the Keep, so it was just my Rogue PC and Valenna. She's damn good with Battle Mage and Spirit Healer to compliment Keeper. We didn't pot to keep realism and the Children were just spawning when PC stuck a dagger in Mother's face. The game rolled credits, then played last cut-scene 3 times in a row before going to title menu, lol. Very glitchy game.

Helps to make Sigrun an Archer with Weak Points and Accuracy on at all times. She will do huge damage if you spend 6 Soveriegns to re-spec her with 100 dexterity. She'll auto-hit for about 250, which is nice!

Also, on subsequent playthroughs, I noticed you can "enter" the Mother (inside her polygonal game space) and just go to town. This is a major glitch I suppose. Sometimes it will knock you back out, but then you can re-enter from the right side. One time, I just stayed in there. It was rogue Main and Justice there (since I can't chose to go alone after accepting party members). Working on solo game now, but man do I feel bad when I turn the potential party members away. Especially Nathaniel. Had to turn him away in a random encounter on the road. I just didn't have the heart to let him be executed. I'm a big softy!Posted Image

2 Dagger Rogues / Anything

Park your 2 dagger rogues right in front of the mother and the rest of your party about 10 yards away.
Have one rogue open with twin-strike and the other with low blow.
Pop unending fury on both.
Should be over in in 15 seconds or so even on nightmare.

Since her main damage will be mid range tenticles and adds (if they even arrive in time), your 2 other party members will get the majority of the damage while your rogues just go to town.

Don't think the add's have ever even gotten to spawn using this strategy: joy of a high damage party.

This is an old forum but I am hoping someone will see this. I have tried over 10 times to try and kill the mother. But to no avail I always die. My other companions are not very high on the points. How do you position each one individually? I can set up the tactics but they still seem to do what they please? I always die right after the second wave of children show up.
