Hi folks
I have 3 questions that i am hoping you can help me with;
1. what are the best gifts for Morrigan and Alistair? No mater what i give, i've only been able to get a best of +5 out of them and i have heard here that it is possible to get a +9 influence with certain gifts.
2. Are there any slotted daggers in the game? anyone has found one?
3 Who can and where do i find the instructors for Duelist and Asassin characters?

I personnaly found a book from the vendor in the Alienage near the end of the game for the Assassin. For the Duelist, you can be taught by a woman in "The Pearl" in Denerim.

1) the tribal necklaces give +9 for morrigan, and alister not to sure but the pendent you get from redcliff gives +9

2)there are slotted daggers, the best dagger is found in orzammar from one of the venders

3) assasin can also be learned from zevran

Alistair also has a fondness for any carved statues and Morrigan for jewellry

weird. i did give the tribal necklace to Morrigan but got only +5 from it. does playing the game on hard has anything to do with it?

Morrigan - necklaces, Black Grimoire, a golden mirror,

Allistair - (what I've found at least) statues, the white runestone, I think I think the black one.



as for daggers, yeah Ozrammar vendor has a really good one.

There's one with a single slot IIRC in the a chest in the town where you get Shale. It's the one that requires a key.

Also I forget where I found it, but there is the Beastmaster's Dagger which is really nice and with 2 slots.

thanks for all your help folks. one last question. I have given a ton of gifts to my party people and now every gift generates just +1 influence. is that normal?

3 slotted dagger that you get in Shales Town in the locked chest

Yes. The onuses degrade as you shower the companion with more gifts. So if you gave her a lot of junky gifts, she'll value the nice ones you later give her much less.

so basically i screwed myself over by gifting Morrigan bits or yarn, solied pantaloons etc. right?

I have the same issue with Morrigan. Even preferred gifts (Tribal Necklace) only give +5.
