I've searched the forums and can't find a post on this, so here's my question:
How / where do I find the key that unlocks the guard door near the back gate in Amaranthine?
There are chests to open up on the roof and I want 'em!
I can't find an answer

I think it has to do with accepting the Smuggler's quest. I couldn't unlock the door either and that's the only quest I turned down.

It's possible, but I didn't or couldn't find a key before I took the quest. I usually take a tour of an area before I start accepting quests. The door showed "can't unlock", and when clicked on shows "key required".
Anyone else have a better answer for this?

you need to do the smuggler quest line. A sergeant of the guard has the key, you have to kill him. Maybe you can pick pock it, but idk.
