So because I chose to do Wending Woods first and can't go back tot he silverite mines I guess I don't get to do the quest Worked to the Bone and get vigilance? Thats some nice design and testing there bioware.

Has anyone found a fix or work around for this? Is it possible to mod or cheat in the item?

Thats why you always gotta be on the lookout for unique items. I always hold tab (which I've changed to z) to highlight items of interest (if you have PC that is). Lucky for me, I picked it up and got Vigilance my first play through. Did you try to go back into that area you got, shall we say mesmerized in?

You can't go back in and you can't loot the egg unless you have the quest started. The item to start the quest is in Black Marsh, so if you do Wending Woods first, like I did, you can't finish the quest.

If you know how to use the toolset, you can open Awakening module and look for the tag_id of that egg and use in-game debugging command to spawn it.

I've used the toolset a little bit but don't know how to do this, can you elaborate?

Here I thought I was just unobservant and missed the egg. Now I find out it's because of poor game design I get screwed out of a nice weapon. The game has pretty crappy itemization to begin with, making me miss out on one of the nicer weapons because I randomly choose to do one main storyline instead of another is a crock.



Way to go BioWare.

That's not true. I did the mines before I got the quest. It's the same with the catgut in the dead mabari you find.

Yeah, I completed the Wending Woods first as well. Then again, I also use my Tab key like a man possessed, just to make sure that I don't miss out on anything that I can loot or interact with in any given area.

Having the quest does not correlate at all to being able to pick the egg up - you can always pick it up. Whether you do or not is entirely your fault. That being stated, I think putting a unique item in an area you cannot return to was rather poor of Bioware. It's not really a bug, though - there are other things much more in need of attention than not being able to re-enter the silverite mines. Like the approval bug, or the equipment disappearance bug (which are probably the two major ones)

That's odd. I did blackmarsh last and did get the egg from the mine, which i did first. I'll have to check this out if I play again..

speaking of this sword, did anyone struggle to just give Wade the ingredients? I have a diamond, grandmaster flame rune, and the ancient dragon bone, but anytime i went to Wade, the dialouge just said "ill be back".

Ok so i see we are talking about the fresh dragon egg in this one. i was wondering how do you even use it? i have talked to wade after the heartwood bow and the golem breastplate and i have not gotten the option to have anything made from the egg? and does anyone in here know how to get outside of the Blackmarch gates that lead to the way you came in to get rid of that fade area by the dragon skull???

Yeah, thanks Bioware for dropping the ball on this one. I didn't realize I had even missed the egg until I went online to find it's location (I usually hate doing that because it feels like cheating). I'll have to go back 8 hours of play time to get the egg now, pretty much turning me off from the entire experience.

You're forgetting the Greater Warmth Salve (Balm, whatever).

Vigilance can only be crafted after you've completed the Blackmarsh (there's a piece of dragon bone that you're missing that can only be obtained after you've finished the portion of the main quest in the area).  Once that's done, you still have to fight one more opponent (a reasonably-challenging one at that) in order to obtain the ingredient required to trigger the conversation with Wade.  Be sure to note that he requires a regular diamond for Vigilance, not a flawless one.

You can pick up the Egg before you have the quest for the sword. So as long as you pick up everything that shines, you should be golden.

I pick up everything that shines i even searched that whole area and even walked up to the big egg, but nada! o also lost my chance to do Sigruns Personal quest due to you having to not help the dude with the smugglers in order to activate it, i also missed Dragonspite bow. looks like i am going back 11 hours and starting over again, i did the same with origins, restarted twice going back a combined total of over 30 hours due to stuff like this oh well i still love it

on a side note, holy crap bow and arrow is powerful, biggest damage dealt by Nathaniel for me is over 850 in one shot!

I did Wending woods first and was able to loot the egg.  I didn't even know what it was but I always pick up sparkly things.  (Guess thats not such a good idea but *shrug*).  I never did Vigilance though. By the time I finished Blackmarsh I was almost done and didn't really need it.

Just so you know, if you craft Vigilence, it get mentioned in the Epilouge.
