With pears and banana. She replaced the flour with coco but forgot to put sugar into the mix.

She sprinkled sugar on top of the half baked pancake but it was still bitter when she took it out so she poured hot maple syrup on top so the sugar would soak into the pancake.

I'm eating the end result now.

It's... interesting.

Now that's OT at it's best. Any chance the Pancake contain's nug-bits? I hear they go great with Maple Sirup

It's crunchy. I've never had a crunchy pancake before.

Could be nug bones in there.

Are you sure it's not unruly DA forumite? I've seen you eat them for breakfast. :D

I love pancakes too. I always try to get my mother to make me pancakes when I come over. I've managed to convince several girlfriends that making me pancakes is the perfect thing to do.

Here's the thing, no one will just make me normal crapes or fruit pancakes. They want to 'experiment.' They want to do something new. Then, they want to me to eat it afterwards. Image IPB

My belly is the repository for many a failed cooking project.

I make pancakes that literally float off my spatula when I toss them. I sometimes think my cooking abilities are too good to be allowed.

Looks like your mum created an interesting hybrid of pancake and crepe there, Maria. I'd have added the pears and bananas after though.

My mother used to make the most awesomest pancakes. Just plain ones, and I ate them by themselves - none of that maple syrup or filling to ruin the basic flavor of a pancake cooked perfectly right. Probably one of my fondest memories has always been Saturday/Sunday morning breakfast with pancakes. That was a long time ago. And I lost the recipe ever since, and I'm not a good cook so I don't know if I can ever reclaim that little part of our family history. :(

This is a Dutch baby pancake; it's not supposed to be light and fluffy. It's almost a batter pudding. You always bake the fruit inside it.

My mother has created some unholy amalgam of breakfast foods. If she had remembered to put the sugar in, it might have been great.

All hail the "Pancake Empire"!

We shall all partake in your fluffy goodness and rebel against the evil ways of the waffle.

May the syrup be with you.

Pancakes was the first recipe I learned. 4 eggs; 4dl buttermilk; 4dl low-fat milk; 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar; ~4-5dl flour. Baked to plate diameter on a real pan, about a mm or two in thickness, not molded into palm size. Eat with strawberry jam and sugar. I could make pancakes before I could make hotdogs.

When I worked at a bed and breakfast many years ago while paying my way through college, the best pancakes I ever had were a gingerbread pancake with fresh whipping cream instead of butter. They also made the most incredible mushroom crepe I ever had, especially considering that I am not overly fond of mushrooms or crepes in general. Image IPB

:lol::lol:

My sister made pancakes when I was there last weekend. She had this great syrop made from raspberries, of all things. Kind of sweet, but very good. Pour some of that on, add a little whipped cream.... great, now I'm craving pancakes.... :D

I still love to eat pancakes, even though many people around these parts regard them as food for children....
