Mass Effect continues to freeze while it takes about 30 sec. / 1 minute
to load a savegame. When it does, the only thing I can do is
Ctrl-Alt-Del, and for some mysterious reason...it loads succesfully.
I
have yet to comprehend why does this happens.
I'll post my PC configuration as well, so that you can help me.
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+
2002 MHz - 1,00 GB RAM - 512 MB VRAM
Radeon X1600/X1650 Series - CATALYST 10.2
Sound Blaster Audigy v5.12.1.512
I have yet tried to patch the game, and it didn't work
p.s.
sorry
if a post like this already exists

As comparatively inexpensive as RAM still is (although not like the bargain it was a few months ago), why not add the second GB that is recommended? That is an almost certain way to improve loading!

Agreed, ME1 is a RAM hog. I experienced similar problems when i had 1GB, now with 2GB the game runs way better.

Thanks to you both. I'll try and see if I have the money to improve the RAM. ^^
