Hey guys, i just recently got a new pc and insatlled the awesome mass effect 1 and 2!!

I was looking to install the BDtS installment for the first game as it's free but when i run the installation and enter my BDtS key it just goes to a screen that say installation was cancelled straight away.

I'm running windows 7 x64bit.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Some people seem to have trouble with the installer. I've seen a number of solutions suggested. One thing to do whenever an older windows program is having trouble in Vista/7 is to give it administrative rights and/or change compatibility to XP mode. I've also seen a suggestion that terminating one of the processes the installer runs will get it back on track. However, these solutions only ever seem to work for some people and not for others, so I can't tell you any guaranteed solution. :/

I had the same problem. Following Kloreep's advice, I downloaded it and went to install it. I opened task manager when it asked for the CD key (the window had a batarian on it). End that window and it should start to install saying "verifying license" or something similar, after a little while it again asked for the CD key (it was a small box rather than normal window this time). I entered the CD key and it worked just fine.

The option to open task manager and close the first key window and wait for the smaller window instaed worked a treat!!
