How many assignments are considered "most of the game"?

Basically, I'm tired of all the side quests that I've had to do over...and over...and over again, and they weren't that great the first time, and I still want to get this achievement.

Just do all side missions you find and only use the same two teammates for the whole playthrough until you get the achievement. I have every achievement, so just send me a message if you need more help with achievements.

So, do I have to go to every system, or is just going to ones directly referenced in assignments enough?

To steal material from this FAQ:

"These achievements work the same as Completionist but are for your Allies instead of Shepard. Like Completionist, your Allies will need to be in your group for 45 Assignments and 15 Missions."

I'm not positive, but I believe that the DLCs affect this achievement, as I just tried beating the game, and I had way more than 15 missions and 45 assignments done with wrex and kaiden, and I still didn't get it (although I hadn't done either of the DLCs).

You'll get it eventually. Just keep doing what you're going. Believe me, it's a RIDICULOUS amount of missions you have to do. The achievements will typically pop up towards the end of the game, when you're on Virmire or Illos maybe -- given that you did enough side-missions prior to that.

And make absolute certain the exact same allies are =in your party for ALL missions and assignments, otherwise you might not get the achievement(s).

Good luck. These achievement are just ridiculously time-consuming, but that's all.

It's supposed to be easier with the DLC, or so I've heard.

I had the achievements unlocked before I downloaded the extra content.

yeah you need to make sure you got your squadmate before doing anything besides the fist/wrex/garrus/tali mission on the citadel. (so that means getting liara, then coming back) You'll want to pick squadmates that go well with your current class so you can balance your weaknesses. I think ashley and kaiden are the easiest to get and can both be gotten before virmire, i know i got kaiden while doing some sidequests after noveria and feros.

I really wish they'd done them differently though.  You should get the achievement for doing thier personal quest (wrex, garrus, tali) with them, or finishing the love interest (ashley, kaiden, liara) or something like that.

Ashley and Kaidan are easier to get their Ally achievements simply because they are with you from the very beginning. Unlike the other squad mates.

No, each ally achievement has to completed in one pass.

you can get every achievement through 3 playthroughs if you already know what you're going to do before you do it.

pick engineer, do something not difficult with 2 squadmates, make sure to get all your available skill and gun kills off or as many as you can, pick two squadmates that compliment you although you want to save the best squadmates for last, also try to angle yourself towards paragon or renegade, i picked renegade.

Then pick adept on hardcore, get all your biotic skills out, enough times to get the achievements, get any gun achievements you missed, make sure you get any minor ones as well, angle yourself towards the other alignment from your first playthrough, and pick two squaddies that you didn't have last time. Also if you want to see all 3 romances this character should be a different gender from the last.  It helps if you can get a weapon skill up on this character.  It doesn't matter if you do adept or engineer first or second but make sure you get yourself a good weapon for hardcore and pick squadmates that compliment you well ahead of time or you will be boned pretty frequently.  you cannot change difficulty at all.

After that do a newgame plus on one of the other two characters that you liked, set difficulty on insanity before leaving the ship, and make sure you bring the other two squadies with you into missions. if you save ashley and kaiden for last then you can get thier achievements early enough to just go with who you actually like to bring along arround the time you get to virmere. (Make sure to check achievements, they're on the main menu on pc) also if you want you can romance that third partner on this playthrough just for completion's sake, and alignment shouldn't matter if you did the other two already, just make sure you hit level 60 on this playthrough. It helps if you do enough sidequests on the others to get to at least 50 on them, makes it easier.  Garrus and Wrex are probably the two most well balanced squadmates you can take with you so that's just something to think about as you go.  Tali and Liara pair off well, and Ashley and Kaiden do also.

after that you should have every achievement and can now proceed to play the game "for fun" although you probably won't want to even look at mass effect 1 again for a long time (when mass 3 comes out should be long enough) :)

You usually want to set up your teams to have some balance between biotic, tech, and weapons as you go.  other than that that should do it!

You definitely want to complete the DLC's on your way to this achievement. I just got Wrex and Tali's last weekend at the finish of Pinnacle Station which was my last DLC, and I didn't even finish all of the assignments in my journal, and didn't go looking for any either. Much, much, easier with the DLC's.

I know I wasn't 100% dedicated to the effort, but I picked up the Asari Ally achievement while facing down Saren at Citadel Control with Liara last time, so...it's most of the game with them in your squad.

Mass Effect Wikia is correct http://masseffect.wi...ents#Squadmates different allies have a different amount of missions needed to be completed. :)

I've been doing ally achievements recently, when you get your squadmates just stick with them at all times and do 40-50 assignments with them, i was able to get all these ally achievements even before Virmire for every character.

Would like this to; could you elaborate. Do just all the quests on Therum, Feros, Noveria & Virmire? Or how many extras beyond that?

do Feros, Noveria, Therum with all the little quests you can find while on those missions. Then return to Citadel and do all of the assignments there, then because you have completed Therum, Feros, Noveria, practically the whole galaxy map should be unlocked. Then just go through every cluster and systems looking for assignments, of course do Bring down the Sky (3 assignments), Pinnacle Station (I remember I've got Tali achievement when I finished one of the Pinnacle Station's assignment). there are about 70 assignments, I think, just do 40 to 50 and then you should get it at some point.
