i can't stop playing as a vanguard.  i've tried all the other classes but all i want to do is zoom around the battlefield blasting hyperkinetic slugs into the enemy's face.
can someone tell me the truly awesome things about another class or two so that i can shake this addiction?

I desperately want to play a Sentinel or an Infiltrator, but I can't break away from the vanguard. I'm totally completely and irreversibly addicted.

The Infiltrator is a lot of fun as well. It's not that the other classes suck... it's just that Infiltrator and Vanguard are too awesome.

Try soldier, adrenaline rush makes you dependant.



Kind of like the reflexes in FEAR... Those abilities make me too dependant and I lose all my sniper skills after I pass too much time playing with them.

No class comes close to the Vanguard for fun, but soldier with Revenant has it's own brand of fun if you like mowing people down with a large gun and moving around the battle field with AR and very fast storm speed.

Each has its own style, all fun. But as for you... too bad. You won't be able to play other classes until you overkill your vanguard-aholism first. Heh

Why? Because heavy warp detonations on Heavy Singularity's are just way too fun. Occassionally Lift's are fun, but moving them towards you isn't (I would rather 'move' them into a group of bad guys next to them and then detonate, but there you go) but the sense of accomplishment if you do somehow manage it is very rewarding.



I also like Infiltrator's since you can stack things so much in your favour it's rather ridiculous... and X-98e Widow's are sexy.

Why is it that barely anybody plays as specialized classes like Engineers and Adepts, but everyone plays as soldiers and vanguards?

It wasn't always so, and I fear that in the general forum it still isn't so. The vanguard was a class that practically no one knew how to use at launch and so they filled the forums with post after post after post about how ME 2 had ruined the class and about how gimped and awful they were. Charge was the worst ability in the game, and running a vanguard through insanity was an impossibility. A few of us wasted our time in general trying to counter ignorance with fact and eventually took refuge here in the class forums when they were finally open to the public. As little as 3 weeks ago there was still rampant misinformation being spread in general, even while there was a HUGE thread right here proving them all wrong. As far as I know, general is still as misinformed about vanguards as they were on day one.
