Can I get weapon achievements as any class?  Like if i'm playing as an adept can I kill 150 guys with an untrained shotgun and still unlock the shotgun achievement?

Good luck killing things with weapons you aren't trained in. It's hard. Hope you enjoy beating your head against a wall. But it should unlock the achievement.

Yes, you can. And the shotgun is probably the one weapon that it's relatively easy to do that with untrained. Use accuracy mods on the shotgun, and put some points into Spectre and the reticule will be fairly usable at close range. It's fairly usable, especially in places like Feros that have lots of Creepers, even untrained. Don't expect to hit anything more than 10 feet away though.

Playing on casual defenitely makes it easier...

if your talking about ME1, then just do survival modes at Pinnacle Station.
