Dog's name reset and has no talents

Found an odd bug with Dog, his name has somehow been reset from what I called back to 'Dog' and he has also lost access to all his talents; there are literally no talents listed on his Talents screen. He's leveling up and getting talent points to spend, but nothing to spend them on. On the inventory screen, his mabari crunch is greyed out, but not the health poultice's, yet he is unable to consume them. Anyone know what the problem might be?
