When ever I try to install the windows service pack 3 I get an error saying that i need to free up 4 MBs of space for the uninstall folder. But I've freed up space. I have 10 GBs of free space and I still get the same error. I am running windows via bootcamp on a mac, which may be part of the problem. But I've heard of mac users successfully installing SP3.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this error?

The toolset hasn't led me into the coninuous reboot loop yet, but I don't want to push my luck anymore.

The error reads:

"There is not enough disk space on E:\\$ntservicepackuninstall$ to install Service Pack 3. Setup requires a minimum of 4 additional megabytes of free space or if you also want to archive the files for uninstallation, Setup requires 4 additional megabytes of free space. Free additional space on your had disk and then try again."

Well I did some background research and eventually found a solution. So if anyone else has this problem here is the fix:
1. Click Start – Run – Type “regedit” and press enter.
2. Navigate to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\Software\\\\Microsoft\\\\Windows\\\\CurrentVersion\\\\Setup]
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\\\\Software
\\\\Microsoft
\\\\Windows
\\\\CurrentVersion
\\\\Setup
3. In the right pane, Right-click and select New – String value
4. Name it as “BootDir” and set its value to “C:\\\\”
