I was just curious and I was wondering if there were going to be any further Dragon Age games. I feel that Awakening might be a little bit short and I'm hoping there will be more to come... <3<3<3<3<3<3

Anyone know?

I'm right with you Leska! I don't know about something titled as blatantly as Dragon Age: Origins II but here is a snippet from an interview between AbleGamers and Mike Laidlaw, the Lead Designer for DA.

"AbleGamers": Any possibility of a multiplayer, LAN, or an MMO version of the Dragon Age saga down the road?

"Laidlaw": When you call a game "Origins," you are making a bit of a statement that there's more to come (and, apparently, that you have six different openings), so I wouldn't rule it out!

i doubt they'll be releasing a sequel for it, you heard what the "Architect" said, he wants to end the Blight, so i suppose that spells pretty much the end of the DA:O franchise.. i think. unless they come up with something like, DA:O The First Blight. XD

i was a bit disappointed with the game too, took me less than 15 hours to finish it, and thats even after completing all the side quests. and IMO, the finale scene was nothing extravagant.. the first one looked even better. nonetheless, it was a freaking cool expansion.

P/S: Sentinel Armor set ROCKS!!!! :D

There's no reason why the Blight has to be the focus of a DA game. There are other things that can threaten a fantasy world. Fade demons. Rogue mages. Psychotic lemons. The possibilities are endless.

Fade demons seem more voyeuristic and curious about the real world. They are not much of a wide threat as small scale.

Mages seem to be mostly kept in check by the Chantry and Templars.

Never met a lemon I didnt like.

So that leaves you, a grey warden and your chosen antagonist the Archdemon

The reason for Architect plan is still unknown, and the creation of the architect himself is also unknown. overall there are a lot of ways to push the story of dragon age forward and i highly doubt it will end at 2 games seeing how this is a world completely created by bioware so there really are no limits to where they can take the story.

hmmm..if you put it that way, then it does seem to have limitless possibilities for advancements... maybe its just that i cant get around the whole idea of anything other than a Blight that would require a Grey Warden to take charge. then again, as long as they dont make it as short as Awakening and ME2, i'm all for it~~

The Wardens are meant to be peerless warriors and stupendous strategists - whoever is king at the beginning of Awakenings says that the "security of Ferelden depends on the wardens". Remember the blights only happen every hundred years or so and most countries still maintain their warden populations (Ferelden was the exception because of the rebellion). There must be some reason for that.

highly likely with those expansion not like u wanna see morrigan in a foot ball kit. *Odin giggles creeply in the back* but i hope they do a DA2 so that PC continues his quests, exploring the world and find morrigan.

The 3rd Blight everyone thought they have killed all of them, but 100 years later, they had yet other one (Where the game time is set now). Bioware can always fast forward the time do a 5th one and some other elements to the story to add something new to it. Another idea is that the Maker came back and started a new order and the player has something to do with that. Many ideas, so short of time.

There has to be another dragon age game they will keep on changing the origins bit in the title to something else as they did for awakening and there will be loads of sequels as there is so much richness in the storyline of dragon age that you cant just leave it at awakening

So no one here reads their Codex? Really?

There are seven arch-demons mentioned in histories. Four have awakened before the current one. So, that's five in total. Two to go. I predict two more full DA games.

Then the sun of thedas became unstable and ages prematurely.
And when the circle of magi discovers that the dark energy is causing the sun to die prematurely, It is up to the grey warden to stop whatever is producing the dark energy before the suns dies, and the planet goes back into ice age
...
...
...
wait a min...this sounds like deja vu.....Hmmmmmmmm

Having another Blight occur in the same Age as the previous one is really unlikely. I doubt we'll be seeing another Archdemon in DA2.

I expect the plot of DA2 to focus on the Fade and demons.

The writers are hampered slightly in this regard. The only real caveat for the plot of Dragon Age sequels is that they must occur during the Dragon Age, leaving only 70 or so years in which the plot may be set.

I read somewhere they planned on 17 games, "In the case of Dragon Age, it's exciting because there's this whole timeline and geography," he said. "So with Mass Effect, we're constantly thinking about the trilogy. But with Dragon Age, it's more open and you can put more all over the place. Seventeen... Sixty-six? Infinite! Infinite games for the Dragon Age universe!"

Personally for the time being I would like a more free-roaming expansion, where you can explore Ferelden like in games like Oblivion, so you can properly explore the country and maybe go back to your origin story, like revisiting the Dalish tribe I left.

Or visiting some of the team mates, at the end I thought that was where Bioware was gonna go with the expansions.

Exactly.  And guaranteed, we will see prequel games covering the first 4 blights.  As well as expansions 1-3 per main game (Origins, DA2, DA3, etc), DLC for each game (2-4 per probably), further sequels after DA3, and a slew of side project stuff like comics, novels, Pen & paper RPGs, etc.

Dragon Age is a franchise EA is pushing heavily, and just like Mass Effect, they'll want to extend that life as long as possible (or as long as it keeps making money).  So yeah, without a doubt there'll be more Dragon Age.

Besides the whole 2/1/2011 date EA/Bioware gave us in Awakening.  So, there's a guarantee we'll see more.
