Seriously though have you seen the price-related nerd-rage in general discussion?

I was just curious and I was wondering if there were going to be any further Dragon Age games. I feel that Awakening might be a little bit short and I'm hoping there will be more to come... <3<3<3<3<3<3
Anyone know?
I hope so. I've played through it 3 times, I'm finished with all my characters. I've played Origins more than that, but I'm pretty done with it too. There aren't any surprises left, or things I must see...so someone wake me up when there is more to do...Awakenings was really over too quickly, and too much left up in the air for my level of patience for "wait and see":P

However, there's a possibility that you may keep your Warden, or at least some of the things you did in DA:O could potentially carry over.

And I'm sure future sequels are being planned. This is EA after all - once they get hold of a money-spinning franchise, they'll squeeze it like a tube of toothpaste.

I also think that DA2 will take place in another country. There's no reason to revisit Ferelden again just because people want to catch up with old NPC friends. There's an entire world to explore, so why stay in one small part of it.
So yeah, I'd like it to take place in another land, have Morrigan's demon-child as a companion, not be a Grey Warden, no blight, more Fade(but a better design, DA:O Fade sucked), more demons, more dragons, more political intrigue, more sneakery in general, less save-the-world scenarios, more choices with no 'right' decision, more Elves, more evil things(evil choices, evil doings, etc).

The Keep was a huge let down.. especially when playing Awakening.. hmph. 30 minutes of playtime, srsly...
Oh, guess I spinned off-topic there. Well, the sequel or expansion (perhaps an Adventure pack a la NwN 1/2?) doesn't have to be all about Blights.
I mean, the Dragon Age setting is a world on it's own. Why not a Mystery of Westgate-/Darkness over Daggerford- kinda adventure pack? (The guys at Ossian Studios are awesome!)
Ideas for a sequel/expansion/adventure pack:
- Tension rises between Qunari and Tevinter/Other nations (meh, that area). Perhaps things aren't what they seem - a Fade Demon at work? Hmm..
- Perhaps crime cartas rise in Amaranthine, after what has happened in Awakening. Either join the local law enforcement, or siding with a thief guild..
- Morrigans Child . start of the new Blight? Dragon Cults?
- Ancient evil rises in Deep Roads that is not darkspawn?
- Invasion of Thedas of another race than Qunari? Tieflings?

I'm wondering if they will go in different directions in the future. I don't think we're done with the darkspawn, although the emergence of sentience and factionalism may mean it is possible we may be siding with some groups against others .... dunno.
It would be interesting if our main char was something other than a Gray Warden ... you know, there's so much of Thedas we haven't seen (means: writers haven't written into existence, yet), there are so many other kinds of options for the future ... perhaps the conflict between malevolent and benevolent Fade spirits may come to the forefront ... there still is the mysteries of the up-to-this-point mostly-unglimpsed Qunari civilization .... etc.
I still think the game lacks a fourth class, and there could be a veddy interesting mutation to its existing lore & backstory to accomodate one. That could be very fascinating, too.

Or hell, just a war of one kingdom vs. another could be made into a game.

Frankly in my opinion, I think it should always be the Warden and the darkspawn. And in the last Dragon Age game, it would be the Wardens annihilating the darkspawn once and for all. Or something.

I think Dragon Age will always be based around the characters and story of Origins. I dont think Bioware would spend all that time creating all of those characters and writing up a magnificent story to then basically ignore it in the second time to do the same thing over again.

You know, thats what they do in most of their games. New characters and new storylines.
And more Darkspawn? What? We already got a game and an expansion where we dealt with them. Do we really need another?

Anyway, back on track..... 17 games, thats huge. thats 17 games with 17 different stories, all keeping in line with the universe's cannon. Tying in with previous/future games, keeping stories in line throughout it's course, not just with games, but with comics, movies (its possible) etc... so yeah, there could be games which focus on the NPCs. maybe DLC episodic chronicles dealing each with a different party member. Alistair at the throne, Morrighan and the demon/god child....
It's clear that Bioware and EA want to make dragon age HUGE, and it's possible.
Also, the slip of paper stating feruary 2011.... as this was included in the awakening box set and not the standard box, it could mean one of 2 things in my eyes. It could mean the date hadn't been decided at the initial release but had by time awakening had been released (an idea that everyone seems to have) or it could mean that's the date for the next origins expansion.
Since Bioware/EA plan on supporting and releasing DLC for 2 years, 2011 is too soon for a release of a new game, unless the expansions for DA:O coinsides with DA2. so my guess is that this 2011 date is for the next expansion pack for DA:O. It was stated that there would be several expansions.
Also, who says all the games have to be Dragon Age? Why not the {something goes here} Age? All in the same universe, spanning centuries, meeting hundreds of thousands of characters, over 17 games, years of game play, with NPCs impacting the universe as a whole.
Some food for thought.
