And if you thought A was easy, whatever comes after will be a crapshoot unless they get serious, and busy, about challenge scaling the opposition (that means more than just levels, it means AI, numbers, and 'rank') to face such 'epic' characters.

I'm all for the Warden to return if for nothing else to deal with Morrigan. My whole problem with possibly dealing with Morrigan as a new PC is that it would kill the role-playing aspect of things for me. You as the player would know Morrigan's history and her past in Origins while presumably the new PC would not.
This would be no different from when you play the game the second time. Then you as the player knows exactly what is going on even though you as the PC still knows nothing about what is about to happen. Also having the original character has a major problem for the developers, what was your relationship with Morrigan? That would affect how Morrigan acts and how your PC would act. A new PC solves that problem.
Beside, why play the same character to the death? I rather start anew with a fresh character.

That's a really simple fix - use an imported save or early conversation to set the proper flags and go from there. No different from how DA:O uses romance flags to determine how companions will act towards you at the time.
I don't know where you got the idea that would be a major problem, there are dozens and dozens of instances of that same kind of situation in DA:O alone, in ways that are totally seperate from romances.

Same reason you don't roll a new character every time you start a new session of a PnP RPG.

I could accept a new character if many of my choices from the previous game carried on. Like, my character exists (or existed) and the big choices in the game I made have had impact (who you put on Ferelden's throne, Morrigan's deal, orzammar's throne, your boon, etc).

current wardens have just too many loose ends to be properly imported in a new game. If they do it'll be something bland like Awakening.
Give me new origins and new places like Rivain, Tevinter, Par Vollen, focus on landscapes (yes, they were a bit bland in origins) and do things properly as in the original game (deep interaction with characters, scaling difficulty, etc).
And *BAM* showers of gold for Bioware

Nay. I love my character, but I think DA:O 2 should start with a new character who has room to grow. We would have to have a full game where all enemies are extremely powerful to challenge our PCs. Our PCs would already have most of the talents they need, too many levels and talents would make using characters too unwieldy. From a storyline perspective our warden has already lived his/her legacy. Let them rest. This is my opinion.
This is only because Bioware made new talents which are most of them a combo from previous talents. Bioware should've done properly a talent tree like in any mmorpgs for each class.
But let's face it, our warden will probably not continue his journey after the next expansion if there is one and if not, he/she will be in DAO 2 otherwise I don't see why they made the epilogues that way : "gone wander off somewhere".

Also write Leliana and Zevran into Orlais as potential party members. Have Alistair appear and continue romance with relevant PC's--though not necessarily be a perma-party member. Dog has to always be there. Maybe Dog can become a rolling stone, and you can paint it black.
Save Shale for a game in Tevinter. Zevran can appear yet again in an Antiva product. Save Sten for later.
As for whether your level gets reset or if they make a high level game--doesn't matter to me. They can make a high-level game though. WoW's been a high level game for a long time. Queen of the Blackmarsh is a simplified Malygos (though with healing on spark touch instead of increased damage to tank...and no dumb phase 3 like in WoW). Baroness is a diet coke Lord Jaraxxas (complete with portals to shut down). There's room for more complexity, and they've got lots of examples to borrow from if they want. High level design isn't a problem. It's been done before.

Since there are a lot of ways to reset the starting powers of the warden the argument that the warden would be too powerful is moot. The ending screens told us that Morrigan was gone... but the sentence ended with "... for now". It seems to be a sign that there will be a canon ending (which I don't mind at all), and as my warden was very much involved, dropping the Morrigan-Warden storyline the same way as they failed to bring Revan's fate to a closure in KoTOR 2 (it was a huge letdown for a lot of players) would be a big mistake.
Also, origins were nice once, but DA2 would feel like a copycat if it used the same 'let's start with various origin stories' template. I think they should drop 'origins' for the DA2, and bring it back for DA3. If February 1, 2011 is really possible DA2 release date, I don't think they have enough time to create brand new origin stories and finish the game in time.

If it was that easy, we would have seen more of our old friends such as Zevran and Leliana in Awakenings. Other than a cameo by Anora/Alistair in the beginning and the snow globe content, there is no indication on how Origins ended. The NPCs you cannot have a romance with in Origins are the only ones who carries over.
Given the buggy ending sequences in Origins, it is clear that the game does NOT properly record all the possible combinations of endings. So unless the Morrigan combinations were properly recorded, it would be a major problem.
There is also another reason for starting anew. The developers for the next sequence of games may not want to be restricted to rehashing Origins. They may want to start fresh in another country and society. Given the turnover in the industry the DA2 maye well be done by a virtually new crew who want to make their own mark on the franchise.
