To my knowledge you have to craft it to obtain the grandmaster flame rune (or having transferred it from DAO) however it really worth it.
For the second question, you cannot play with your GW after having finished the game. Actually, the game is not even saved after the final fight and you cannot save it either (the cinematic is launched as soon as you win the fight).

You'll need to create the rune yourself through runecraftingAgent Zero XO wrote...

Anyone know where I can get the Master Flame Rune Tracing in Awakening? I get get Vigilance without making a Grandmaster Rune, and I get get that without some Master ones, etc.

Try Ambassador Cera in the keep's throne room. She has the grandmaster flame rune tracing, but the wiki doesn't mention the master rune tracing, and I don't remember off hand.
Money permitting, I usually just buy every rune tracing that I see when visiting merchants so I don't have to track them down later. Money seems to fall from the sky in Awakening, so funds shouldn't be too much of an issue.
In a future playthrough, it's much easier to just import a grandmaster flame rune and a grandmaster lightning rune from Origins, as they can both be purchased there without having to go through crafting.

Thanks for the heads-up, it's much appreciated! As it turned out, I had the tracing already, but couldn't make the run because none of my companions were at the right level of Runecrafting. Oops
. Still, thanks all the same.
