Based on negativity expressed in various threads, I had some trepidation as I started Awakening. Fortunately, I am pleasantly surprised, and am enjoying the expansion very much!

My character (Dwarf Noble Rogue) imported perfectly – including the custom weapons and armor I had created via the toolset, along with everything I had in my inventory.
This is an excellent expansion, and job very well done! Well worth the cost to me! :D

Your signature would be quite meaningful, if only you learned the difference between "loose" and "lose".

That makes me really angry that custom equipment made by people that don't have a job at Bioware actually transfers. I'm still confused as to why the DLC that game owners payed for didn't transfer, yet someone can make a patch not a day after release and still retain all their equipment. If anyone doesn't admit this is a money grab, then they are seriously blind.

Dear bioware,

Do us all a favor.

If this is what your games look like when you actually make a deadline . . . .

. . . . please miss your next deadline.

Seriously, you might do us a favor by offering some actual useful feedback, rather than whining about the fact you didn't like the game ... and whining with the same line you've already used elsewhere.

It is true that customer feedback is important and if we don't like the product we should let the company know why - but nonconstructive criticism is as worthless as blind brand whorship.  I know angry recrimination is easy to accomplish in the 30 second attention span most posters on internet boards can muster, but it doesn't get anything done.

I felt this game came out too quick and they didn't have time to do a lot of things that made the original game what it is. I will probably pick it up if I can get it on sale on Steam. On one hand, I feel like it's a money grab in some ways, but on the other hand, I feel like the devs wanted to expand upon the world and give gamers another great experience. Unfortunately, I think they bit off a little more than they could chew, and had to strip some things they probably would've wanted in the expansion.

Not to be a troll or anything, but that is the most misspelled word on the internet. I really don't get how people equate the sound of "lose" into "loose". Do you also spell "moose" as "mose"??

i personally feel that the game is simply too short to cost that much. however i do like how they reduce the levels of dungeon and inculded some puzzles. though the puzzles are too easy for a 16 year old haha

Please forgive the spelling mistake I had (now corrected) in my signature. Believe me, I commit much worse errors between my ears on a daily basis than I ever do on the keyboard.

My statement that "I'm loving Awakening" is obviously just my personal opinion. Perhaps I'm like a hungry man, who relishes every morsel of food I can get my hands on. During the last 5 years I've found scant few games that I enjoyed this much:

1. X2 and X3 space games from Egosoft

2. Oblivion

3. Dragon Age

Once I find a game I like, I tend to play it for many months (if not years). To me, Awakening represents a treasure-trove of new content for my modding delight.

I agree, This game is a patched together rush job. The models for the children are laughable. The animation for them looks like something I did in Poser years ago. This expansion is certainly not worth the 40 dollar price.

How long have you worked for EA?
There is no treasure much less a trove of new content. 8 hours first play through in hard mode does not a trove make.

We eagerly await the mod you make in the Toolset to show Bioware how it is done. Do you even own a legit copy of DA:A?

The continuation of my character in the DA setting is enough to think it is well worth the price, imo. The story thus far is good.

You don't have to know how to bake a cake to know if you like the one just tasted or to compare it to those you've tasted in the past. But as it turns out I do 3d modeling as a bobby. I use Maya autodesk.. These models were quite simplistic in construction and animation. Compare the grubs to the spiders. The spiders had much more detail.

Clearly this (as all things) is a matter of perspective. The expansion is neither worth every penny, nor is it over-priced. It is merely a bunch of binary bits displaying ineractively on the computer. I am happy with it, and you apparantly are not. Fortunately for me, this expansion engenders considerable enjoyment. You are the one claiming to be able to bake a better cake as it were, so until you can prove what you claim and that you actually own the game you are criticizing, yours is just a another troll post.

So did you pull the 2 levers in the Experiment room?
You make me laugh, your position is so weak you have to try to discredit me rather than my argument.
Debating 101.

Why not register your game then?  Your argument consists of "omg, the models suck, i can do better." I asked you to prove it. Other than that, it is just a matter of opinion on whether or not the individual likes the expansion. I do, you dont. No argument there.

I always love when people don't like something and rather than be constructive with it, use that dislike to troll and argue with others. Yet at the same time expect everyone else to hold their complaints as legit.

In the end it doesn't really matter if you enjoyed it or whether it was good, you're just here to down-play everything rather than make a valid point.

Ok, I registered it.
Actually my complaints were rather detailed.

Yes, I do own a legit copy of the game. And I stick my by my critique of the low quality of the new models and animations.

I like the some of the minor (well some could be considered major) changes they made in Awakenings:

1. I being able to purchase the different heraldry symbols and apply them to shields

2. I like the idea of crafting my own runes, instead of hoping a merchant has the 1 I want

3. I LOVE love love love that we can now add runes to armor.

4. I like some of the new poisons/coatings/bombs: I use the elemental bombs a lot!

5. I like the entire concept of Vigil's Keep:

-- I like having more than 1 merchant to shop from

-- I like how the Keep changes as you upgrade it

-- I enjoy the different daylight settings

-- I enjoyed the little quests that took place at the Keep

6. I LOVE the party storage chest.

7. I'm really digging the loot: There's so many cool axes and swords and shields to choose from that it's really hard to make a decision. Some of the armor can be pretty cool as well (though I'm still rocking the Juggernaut armor w/ Ring of Ages - I'm a resistance freak).

8. I like that you get more money for completing side-quests from the different boards. I forgot what quest it was, but I received 20 gold from a chanter's board request! This is much better than the 2 or 3 gold you got in DAO.

9. I like Sir Pounce-a-lot.. I mean really, LOLz

10. I like the potential for the companions, though like I've expressed in another thread, it's hard to get to know them with the new conversation system (which I am not a fan of). This makes me sad because I'd love to find about a lot more about Anders, and get inside Nathaniel's head (I'm a HNF, and it seems by not freeing up the conversation, a good opportunity for complex character develop was lost).

I think these things (minus the dialogue issue) are steps in the right direction, and I hope to see more of them.

It wouldn't be so bad if they would fix the thousand glitches and bugs it has.

Also if it was a bit longer....Those are the only issues I really had with it, everything else was great!

I really don't understand all of the hate. I haven't encountered any of these "bugs" that people are complaining about, and I am enjoying it throughly. I mean, sure, its not quite as good as Origins, but I've never played an expansion that was better than the original game.

Over-reaction, I think.

For one thing, I was pleasantly surprised by the banter. Clever, witty, and humorous. In DA:O I felt it was a bit contrived and manufactured.
