On my second playthrough I put the difficulty to Insanity and carried over the Infiltrator that I had just used to beat the game on normal. Needless to say it was tough for me, but Horizon took it to a new level, particularly the fight against the two Scions and that raveging horde of husks. Then I noticed something I've yet to see brought up anywhere else (though maybe it has been)...

As you enter the battle ground for this part a Scion is actually visible and since you don't trigger the spawning of multiple enemies until you pass a certain point you can take one down before the fight commences. Look straight ahead between a tall, slim pole and the pad that initiates the collectors to come after this fight (If you have yet to beat it before, sorry for that terrible description). The back of a Scion should barely be visible, but will be very obvious for those who have a sniper. Anyways, it takes a few shots but I'd suggest gunning it down then starting the fight.

For the Praetorian, well you're SOL.

You can actually take down both scions before going in.

Me, I like fighting them. As for the praetorian, heck you're an infiltrator.

Just keep your distance and shoot it. Actually helps if your squadmates are unconscious, so you can fly the praetorian like a kite until it dies (use SMG vs. barrier, and snipe the armour).

Reminds me of that ME1 trench-run tactic (taking down the colossus first before heading through the conduit)

I just kept running circles around the Scions and spammed Singularities at the Husks until the Husks were gone, then I Warped the heck out of 'em.

This was a tactic?

As far as I know most enemies with projectile weaponry couldn't hit the broad side of a fast moving barn (or mako).

There was no difficulty to the trench run; the game cheated to give you the idea that you were constantly being fired on by reducing your shields/health as you got closer. Lame.

I could be wrong.

My advice for fighting the praetorian is to use the arc gun with as much ammo as possible and NOT to use cover. Instead move behind an object, charge the arc gun, then pop out and hit it, pop back behind an object (but not into cover!), repeat until you're out of heavy weapon ammo.

It works better then trying to constantly keep a collector beam or whatever on the praetorian (as that requires you be exposed), in my opinion. Could be wrong though - Avalanche has a very good armour/barrier/shield multiplier and is weak against health, which Scions/Praetorians don't have. (It freezes though). This could make it quite useful in this battle - have yet to try it due to my dislike of the weapon.

Alternately if you have to use the collector beam (considering if you don't pick it up here... most people will presumably pick it up just out of compulsion, even if they never ever plan to use it again) don't use cover - stay out of cover and keep moving, keeping you safe from the meelee attack, while sniping at the sides of the praetorian but making sure theres an object between its laser and you. Thats pretty much good advice for any weapon, though - abuse its large size.
