There were a couple of cute flirtation comments to Anders but pretty much that was it. My PC was married but that doesn't stop one from looking or even flirting sometimes.

And I still wanna know WHAT Alistair whispered in my Cousland girl's ear when he said goodbye!

i think he said 'send me saucy texts' haha:innocent:

i think if they made it more in detail+romance it wouldnt be expansion pack, rather a full game,so they had to cut some things out, although i didnt like the rushy thing in DAA

I for one can see the no romance thing, you are busy and can't pursue that avenue. STILL that wouldn't have precluded one little bitty cutscene with a messenger bringing you a Codex about Zev/Leli/Non-King Alistair to explain why they were not with you in the expansion. Not anything big just SOMEthing to place it in context and acknowledge it was there. The new companions I didn't have long enough to get beyond a mildly flirtatious feeling with let alone a full blown romance. I didn't mind that. Hell I didn't mind just getting a few lines of dialogue with King Alistair (my Cousland girl was married to him) that explained to my satisfaction why he wasn't going to be with me in the expansion. He was king, I put him in that position and I knew when I did it there would be no Gray Wardening adventures with him after I did that as after the Blight he would be too busy being king.

But no letters or any acknowledgement in game of someone who in Origins came to hold a special place in your heart and you in theirs? It was just hugely disappointing.

If you hated the romance that was fine too, your game, you play how you want. But those of us who want more than smack smash kill the next darkspawn/do the next quest it was kind of a let down.  At least for me it was.

I don't know why people care so much about romances guess they just want to see some skin so they can fantasise about when they ****** it. A romance doesn't make or break a game nor a story its a tool a writer can use but it is not essential. Stop obsessing over it

How you interacted with your companions was a significant part of Origins.

It'd be like Return of the Jedi substituted brand new characters for the Rebel Alliance.  No more Hans Solo, Leia, Luke etc etc.  It just doesn't make sense.

Yes your right interactions with your companions was a significant part of Origins, but all those interactions doesn't have to lead to romance. Its becoming cliche and it is becoming a mandatory element Bioware must add perhaps to their writers dismay. If they are going to add romance they need to do it better not just through constant dialouge at a fire. You don't need romantic interaction to interact with your companions it would be better if instead of going to each party member talking to them individually you would rather huddle around a fire and share stories of your life. After all your companions are the very same people who will be watching you back and saving your lives in a fight so this adds far more interaction then simply telling some woman that you "luv" them.

you are right. it doesn't have to. but it CAN. And you could just flirt just for fun. And in any case most complaints arent that they want new romances but rather aknowledgement of the previous romances, a bit more than alistair at the start or just a mention in the epilogue

lol Bioware, take note. Don't worry about new classes, fighting, etc. Actually, just remove that stuff from the game. Just maybe one 100+ hour huge EP with nothing but romances and sex scenes. Don't worry about making new characters. Otherwise, you guys are wasting your time and resources.

I spent a lot more time on side quests this time around. It made me feel like my WC was trying to prove she was a good Arl to Amaranthine. My WC didn't have time to write love letters. She had a job to do and her love knew that. Bioware did warn us about the lack of romances in the FAQ beforehand. I don't know why some thought they should shove romance in there as a surprise.

Sorry to break this to you guys but nobody in Origins loved anyone. You were in a high pressure, emotional situation and you pestered them for sex. That's it.

But they did give of a quick cameo of one of our past traveling mates. Though with their story it wouldn't be shocking to see them ever appear again in any sequel or expansion.
