This is my 3rd play through with a new character (instead of improting one from Origin so I can see different endings), I still can't find the key to open the locked door behind the Crown and Lion tarven in Amaranthine. Someone throw me a clue please?

That's a part of the smuggler's quest. If you side with the smuggler's one of the last things the leader asks you to do will require going up in that tower so he gives you the key.
