A thought occurred when the choice between Agent and Assassin came
up... how do the Paragon/Renegade bonuses work (+70% for Assassin,
+100% for Agent) ? Is it 70/100% on your current Paragon/Renegade
point count (e.g. you have 100 paragon points, you get a one-time
increase of 70 or 100 more points), or does it increase the amount of
Paragon/Renegade points you get in the future (e.g. An action that
would net you 10 renegade points now would get you 17 or 20 for the
rest of the game)?
Just something that's been bugging me... [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png[/smilie]

It multiplies your Paragon/Renegade points.
Example:
You have 100 Paragon and 100 Renegade points
Agent gives you 100% bonus = you have 200 of each
Assassin gives 70% = 170 of each
Now you get 10 points for some action...
So you have (100+10)*2=220 as an Agent or (100+10)*1.7=187 as an Assassin
You can always respec back and forth, your base Paragon/Renegade points remain the same.

It's both. The Passive not only increases whatever your Paragon or Renegade score currently is; it also increases any points you get later.

But the base amount of points is still the same, if you go from Agent to Assassin and then back to Agent, you do not lose any points.

True.

It can be easily demonstrated with the retrain powers skill.
You take all your points off and your para/rene looks pretty underwhelming. When you add the points, it magically seems as though you're gaining para/rene. I assume that the points are worked out first and then multiplied by the skill % afterwards.
