And that's fine, but don't call others on being respectful when you yourself are not.

Lets stay on topic! This thread first and foremost is about hating Oghren and how he is the worst companion who could have returned from origins.

I mean, seriously I would have rather had Ruck or Sandal in my party than Oghre, wouldn't you guys?

I can be respectful but alas having a civil conversation on things there seems to be little of in this forum

Sometimes it is better to log off if you have nothing constructive to say rather than complain. That is what I stated and I stand by that.

That isn't what I read in your other post, which is why I took a stab at you. Regardless of what your original meaning was, I fully agree with this statement.
Whenever you see something you don't agree with; reflect a moment, before you click on reply and spew your rage, wether or not that opinion really matters enough to you to start getting angry over (Psst, it never is).

People have a write to voice their opinion but that doesn't give them the write to bang down something that BW worked hard on. So it is not perfect and your favorite is not coming back but you can't just start trashing and complaining as that is not how the world of game works. BW doesn't care about if you like Oghren or not, they would make a story that they like and share it with the world and we should respect that as it is their story, their idea and we are here to watch and play and enjoy.

No. Especially since there are a lot of great banthers between Oghren and the other party members.

Can you all honestly say that you wouldn't have rather had Sandal as a companion over oghren? Sandal could gone down in gaming history as the most pwn companion of all time. But no, instead we got....Oghren....epic fail...

Raygereio made the best point i think when he wrote about BW saying they will bring back an old favorite , and many people was disapointed when they found out it was Oghren.

Same happened with me, from every poll i read i got the idea that the favorite chars are Alistair Morrigan and Leliana, so i never would have guessed that it's Oghren so i was quite disapointed with it.

Well I'm not saying that Oghren is the best, but it's not the worst either. For example, I liked him more than Sten and Dog.

At first the only companions I preferred Oghren to were Sten and dog, But he kind of grows on you. Now he is around the level of Zevarn, having passed Morrigan and Wynne. I had hoped that it would be Leliana or Alistair, but Oghren is to me better than Sten.(I also want to know if he managed the barrel of pickle juice.)

I would not of liked to see Sandal become a compainion, as he would have to have an "enchanter" class (which would be a tranquil class).

And Bioware did not Epic fail. They rolled a five with a modifier of +11 on a DC 18 skill check.

Express your dislike of oghren here.

I hate oghren. He was by far the worst companion, if not worst NPC overall in origins. Why put him in awakening.

Not only does oghren promote the delinquency of minors by encouraging the consumption of alcoholic beverages, he is gross and boring and ugly.

Wouldn't everyone have much rather had Dog return? Dog was awesome, and he requires no voicework.

Or, what about sandal or ruck?? Seriously, Sandal companion would have given the awakening team legendary status and lifted the reviews from 8's to the 9's easily.

I feel that Oghren was one of the least original character concepts in D.A. and he was kind of disappointing because he's a dwarf stereotype...albeit a fun stereotype at times. I never took him consistantly on play throughs. I'm not sure I get your point about the "delinquency of minors" part considering the rating of this game should place it out of the hands of minors. Oghren was the best character by a country mile.

I dunno... After hearing Oghren's "Look at me, I'm an elf! Trees are preeeety! Tra-la-la!" in Blackmarsh, I totally love him. :)

In fact, Oghren was so good, I picked him up first in my last playthrough just so I could get maximum goodness.

After getting to know Oghren better and moving beyond the stereotype I find that this character is funny and likable. It was probably a very good idea to include him in Awakening. Oghren is cool.

Indeed. Many people know him only as a comic relief and a stereotypical dwarf in DA:O. We get another chance to get to truly know him in Awakening.

I agree, but I think the reason they will never add him is because when party Banter gets triggered, his only response will be "Enchanment"? Though, that would be pretty funny! :)

I'm still waiting on someone to create a mod that will alow him to be a party member. You hear that modders?

Oghren for the win. Crude, rude humor at it's finest. Had me in tears a few times.

Oghren is just not good designed in my opinion.

He is a drunken dwarf how likes to harass women.

There, in ten words I said everything there is to know about his character. which makes him about as deep as a layer of Gold leaf.

Fart jokes and comments about vomit - oh Maker! Oghren was bearable in Origins but just plain obnoxious in Awakening. At least he can be ignored.

Wow.

First I'd like to point out that this ain't reality, it's a fictional fantasy world. Dwarves, in every myth/legend, are heavy drinkers, and are gross to human standards, and quite ugly compared to human standards as well.

If you are worried about being a bad influence on minors, worry more about what is happening now, 2010, in the real world, not in a fictional game.  Oghren fits his character very well, and is 100% a common (Warrior Caste) Dwarf, if he were of noble birth, I would've agreed that his attitude is short-coming.

I sort of liked him in DAO but in Awakening it seems he went full retard.

I really do not like this sense of humor in the game. I suspect the same person put the "cake is a lie" and "epic fail" lines in DAO.

I don't exactly hate him, but I don't really like him in Awakenings either. In Origins once I got him to talk about something other than asschabs or falling over drunk, he turned out to be a decent character and I've started getting him sooner as a result. He has a bit of depth to him once you get him to open up. He wasn't my favorite, but I would take him out of camp on occasion just to see what he had to say about things.

In Awakenings I can't win for losing with him and the way the conversation system is it's practically impossible for me to get on his good side so that I can get his personal quest. Maybe I'd have a different opinion of him if I could, but as it stands I just leave him in camp. There's only so many drunken antics I can handle before I start feeling like a baby sitter, and he's drunk more in Awakenings than he was in Origins. So much for all the progress he had made before.

On a side note it irritates the heck out of me that he went from talking about my character being like family at the end of Origins to getting pissed at every conversation option I choose in Awakening. I mean come on, really? He's talking about rashes and gets mad when I ask what he touched? Since when is teasing off limits with him? :?
