Yes, that's exactly what was stated, so the absence of the dog actually violates their own mythos.  I found it very jaring and unexcusable.  Even if all they did was give us the presence of our dog at the Keep, I would have been happy... well, happier than just his complete and unexplained absence.  Boo, writers, boo.

I agree with the posters who found Oghren much nastier and more unlikeable in Awakenings.  I couldn't wait to get another tank-like party member and ditch him... but then I don't find alcoholics hee-larious, so there's that.

Oghren is awesome in Awakening. Can't wait to play 3 dwarves + 1 mage party once I actually bother to finish Origins. Will probably take a while since Awakening is so much better and more interesting though.

I agree that he is overboard in Awakening, the "rack" comment was too much. I'm only a few hours in to Awakening, but there should be a way for you to make him check his manners through dialogue, I would be ok with that, because there are plenty of people like this is real life and that's what you do to them, and it's actually fun to do, but the fact that he just seems to get away with it makes it tough to tolerate, especially if you're someone who cares about egalitarianism. Other than that, I mostly enjoy his character, I liked him in Origins.

And so far he's an over-the-top drunk that hits on anything female. He has the occassional funny line, but seriously, he's a dad now right? he ditched his wife too. I've seen a few funny things in Origins, but there's only so far his kinda humor can get you, before it just gets annoying or childish, IMO. And I crack dirty jokes and sh-- with my friends a lot. zevran knew when to stop, and he's not *belch* YA WANT SUMS O' DIS?! in your face about it. I liked a conversation between him and Sigrun about Branka and prefering something else afterwards because it insulted him and shut him up about getting into her pants.

I'm glad we could get him late in Origins, but now I'm gonna try refusing him the Joining, and probably getting Justice right off the bat or something on my next transfer.

Oghren wasn't my favorite character in Origins. He definitely would not have been my choice to bring back in Awakenings.

I have a boyfriend, therefore I'm not trying to have some fake relationship through a game because I'm lonely. It's cute how you see it that way though. I doubt you've even seen a vagina in your lifetime eh? Poor child.

Or, what about sandal or ruck?? Seriously, Sandal companion would have given the awakening team legendary status and lifted the reviews from 8's to the 9's easily.

My least fav character in DAO or DAO A.. and I really dig Sirgun so it's not like I just hate d0rfs.

I was looking forward to getting to know Ohgren more before the expansion but having played it I really don't like him. The only charecter more dense than him is Anders.



A shame seeing as I actually liked him in the little time I talked to him in the main game.

I found he grew on me more than he did when I used in DA:O. Personally I like to think that theres a lot more depth to him, like the moments in camp where he talks about Branka or the whole felsi/baby thing or the one I stood out the most was the comment between him and nathaniel in awakening when asked about his potential exile from orzammar how he just "drinks more and it goes away"



Then of course it all comes down in an avalanche of burps innuendo and booze

Video games don't effect kids. If Pacman had effected kids, we'd all be running around darkend rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive techno.
