those are all from Origins, and yes he did have some decent dialogue. and yes, it's good to have some comic relief (zevran, etc as you pointed out). but Oghy in Awak. just irritates a lot of us. sometimes its the shameless flirting with almost everyone, despite the fact he's married, or perhaps its the way he went through the Joining. this kinda humor can be pretty funny, but he takes it too far.

I actually liked Oghren in Origins but he seemed abit moody for me in Awakenings. That and the fact that he left his wife and kid doesn't really sit well with me either. Personally I wish we could have had our dog instead of him in Awakenings, lol.

I'm sorry but after going through all those responses I still hate him in Awakenings.
Also the distinction is that I didn't dislike him in Origins (only character I disliked in Origins was Wynne,and yay she appears in Awakenings to). But damn, he was dreadful in Awakenings.

I think he was ok in Origins, in the end I liked him as I thought he redeemed himself by becoming a family guy. Never played Awakening and it sounds like he got worse
But in real life he would be someone I would not get along well with, as I can't stand obnoxious, crude people. A bit of joking around and acting silly sometimes is great but not if that's all they can say.

I have to say that as an "old favorite" Oghren is not it. I was disappointed when i found out it was Oghren comming back for Awakenings, i rarely use him in O and like wise rarely in A as well. I use him for the DR part of the Oz story then i shelve him right next to Morrigan and Allistair. Those 3 characters are only used where required and that is pretty much all they are is a place holder until i can get a better character to fill thier role.
As for voicing an opinion that is exactly what these boards are for, just to remind some of you folks. You do not have to agree, disagree with the OP it matters not, the developers would be wise to read the forums to get an idea about what thier fans want in a game so that they can make the next DA experience with the most people in mind.
Truth be told i would have rather had Mihri as a party member as opposed to Oghren, no slight on the VA just from a practical stand point. She is ready to tank with out the respec and that is more how i set up my parties anyway, not who would i rather bring but who will do the better job i need done, that is THE ONLY criteria i use to decide

I agree. Turning him into a deadbeat father was just horrible writing. He devolved as a character.
