Does +50% more damage against armor/shields/barriers mean:
1. An additive +50% lumped in with your other class/power bonuses.
OR
2. An increased _multiplier_, so a sniper rifle's 1.5x vs armor becomes 2x, an ARs 1.25x vs everything becomes 1.5x, etc.

I think it just adds 50% extra damage on base damage and that ammo powers higher the amount even more for example instead of +10% on a base weapon without upgrade +50% on a base weapon with upgrade and +10% of the 150% you already had.

So that would be option number 3, another multiplier. So a sniper rifle would do 1.5 (base damage multiplier from upgrade) * 1.5 (resistance multiplier) = 2.25x as much damage to armor? Insane if true.

From what I have read, it is option 2:
So the calculation vs. armor would be: Base Dam * (GeneralUpgrades + PowerBonuses + GearBonuses) * (WeaponBonusVsArmor + PenetrationUpgradeVsArmor)

Option 2 is more in line with what they've told us and makes more sense in comparison to everything else.
Sentinel's calculation is pretty much spot on except for the lack of an "ammo power factor" which disregards all boosts and runs off of only the weapon's base damage. EX:

Actually, I'm pretty sure that weapon upgrades affect base damage as well. So it's more like:
[Base Dam * WeapUpgradeBonus * (PowerBonus + GearBonus) * (WeaponBonusVsDefense + PenetrationUpgradeVsDefense)] + (Base Damage * AmmoPowerBonus)
[Base Dam * WeapUpgradeBonus * (PowerBonus + GearBonus) * (WeaponBonusVsDefense + PenetrationUpgradeVsDefense)] + (Base Damage * AmmoPowerBonus)
