I bought it because it was the first RPG released for the PS1 in the USA. Big mistake. The game was an absolute shameless rip off of the excellent Lunar series. The loading times were horrendous, battles were unbalanced in difficulty and the characters and storyline were all derivative, generic crap even by the standards of 1996.

Other horrid games I remember since my post from a month ago are: Nightmare Creatures and Criticom. I sold both of these games within a week after buying them brand new... on their release date. Rarely do games make me feel so much remorse. Simply awful. I can't remember any other "gems" at the moment. As a friend just told me moments ago when I asked him to jog my memory, we didn't actively avoided crap.

How can you say that about Vay. The original Sega CD Working Designs version was a great game for its time. Before there was a FF7 making everyone cry at the loss of a team member, I got teary eyed when a certain character died in Vay. Working Designs also make Lunar 1 and 2 and Popful Mail. All four were amazing games on an under rated console addon.Seagloom wrote...
Ever *made*? I have no idea. The worst games I ever played were Kasumi Ninja, E.T., and Vay. I managed to finish E.T. several times. How on earth I had patience enough for that, I'll never know. Actually, I do know. I was too stubborn to leave any game unfinished back then.

Lunar and Lunar: Eternal Blue were outstanding. The latter is one of my favorite JRPGs of all time. Popful Mail was a silly, funny little game that I enjoyed too. I also lurved Dragon Force, Albert Odyssey, and Magic Knight Rayearth on the Sega Saturn.
But Vay? I despised Vay, even back then. Maybe I'll write a bit more about it later. For now, I'm not in the mood. Otherwise I would have written a diatribe on Nightmare Creatures and Criticom earlier.

Producer: Okay, we need to make a Superman game. Guy, Douche...give me some ideas!
Guy: Alright, I think we should take Superman, put him into an open world (like Zelda) and let him take missions to fight different villains. Each villain has their own path, but he needs to defeat them all before he can gain access to the final villain's path. What do you think?
Producer: Yes, well...
Douche: *Ahem* Boss, listen to this! We have Superman and, I sh!t you not, he flies through (here it comes) HOOPS! Also, he controls like a man diagnosed with Parkinson's experiencing an epileptic seizure.
Producer: J-A-A-A-A-A-C-K POT!

Command and Conquer III
I haven't liked a single one since Generals/Zero Hour. They even made the new red alert suck for me.
Generals 2 would be awesome..

FFX I liked. To me it was the first time FF's main hero had a real personality.

Played--I actually dont know this one, as most games I but I research and dont remember any really bad games execpt the one below
Bought--Two Worlds---Okay this game had the potential to be bad ass, but the voice acting, bugs, and some things left a tad bit of bad taste in my mouth. The world was diverse and good looking if I recall and their was a diversity among weapons and armor (again if I remember right) and some quests had those stumble into it feel that I like in some RPGS , but the negatives vastly out weighed its few pros. Negative memory--The voice acting, and glitches Postive memory--running into a dragon, literally accidentally finding a dragon nest thing in the middle of a desert, the mob wasnt scaled and was a worthy fight if my memory serves. Again this wasnt a bad game, if you could get past its flaws it was throughly enjoyable but this game was the worst I have ever bought I think, I tend to avoid games that look awful.
God willing the sequel will live up the the first games potential, and we will have another enjoyable rpg series.
