 so with one of my characters i have maxed out herbalism-- but when i bring up the crafting window with that character the only options for stuff to make is the first tier stuff 'lesser' items.
Is this a bug or do i have to learn recipes from somewhere/someone?

there are recipes though I've not found any for herbalism yet. Mostly poison and trapmaking

Check in the various shops you find , some have herbalism recipies.

Which I have to admit, for the health poultices, are extremely useful
