I keep getting this error when I try to render the lightmap.  I have Python 2.5.4 with Win32all installed.  So I don't understand why.  Any insights?  Running Vista 64-bit with 8Gig of RAM.

I am getting that a lot too.

Also I am getting some real weird "lightmaps" like a level dotted with light that looks like "shadows" from objects (that aren't even there) in an other wise unlit level.

I cant render lightmaps, too. I'm getting:

E: 13:00:23 - Job submission process failed with a return code of '-1073741515'.

Many people seem to have this or a similar issue with the lightmapper...

Edit: Ah, that one is solved here: http://social.biowar.../8/index/118290

I think I figured this out. I had had ActivePython installed at one time, then read in the forums to use only the Python 2.5 version (actually it's Python 2.5.4) and download the Win32dll addins separately. Also note that anything later than Python 2.5.4 is NOT backward-compatible so be sure not to use anything later. Apparently the registry got messed up when I uninstalled the ActivePython and installed the regular version so the associations with the toolset were wrong. I simply re-installed the toolset and now it's working.

I'm getting this too, and I did install Python and the Win32dll's. I installed them after the TS, so I'm going to reinstall the TS now and see if that fixes anything. Post my results here.

Nope, same error. Cannot render lightmaps here.  I never had ActivePython installed so that wasn't it.

This problem was solved (for me) by installing the Python for Windows extensions found here:
http://sourceforge.n.../pywin32/files/

I was having some trouble even after following through reinstalling ActivePython 2.5.4.4, pywin32-214.win32-py2.5.exe and the toolset. The last thing I had to do was delete the light asset that was created with the old installs and recreate it. Everything seems to be working now.
